It's odd to me that they won't release a cheaper, plastic version of the Analogue NT that would fit in line with the SNES and Genesis models they are offering.  However, if the NT is too expensive, I think it is generally accepted in the gaming community that the Retro USB AVS is an acceptable alternative for that price range.
Only thing against AVS is that it's 720P, where as Analogue is 1080P.
Maybe it will be updated.

Also not big fan of the big top flap.

On the other hand AVX has front loading for NES carts... but I do have NES everdrive and my carts are stored away.

In agreement about the resolution and appearance advantages of the Analogue.  But the price difference still pushes me towards the Retro USB.  Also, the Retro USB has a short list of features that the Analogue doesn't have.  I just don't remember what those are off the top of my head.
Maybe, just once, someone will call me "sir" without adding, "you're making a scene."

Where's our Pizza man?  Any console mods on the AVX yet =P.

Will probably get a Genesis and SNES (but what colors?....).
Black.
Others looked pale.
After Wiggy posted his clear SNES, I was also highly dissapointed in that.  I would love the retail colors, but it just looks strange.  Probably will end up getting:

Mega Sg - JPN1 - $189.99 (for the blue reset / red wordings)
Super Nt - Black1 - $189.99

Didn't it become nicely clear (looking like it was advertised to be) when sanded?

I went EU + Black.
Also ordered black MD wireless controller, and black and EU colored SNES controllers.
I might swap the EU color buttons to the black controller.

Mainly I'll be playing with ASCII SNES pad.
Just recieved cables that allow me to use it on SNES mini aswell.

I did some thinking and remembered Retro-Bits's Retroport adapter.
It should allow NES games to be played on Super NT.
You'll lose enhanced audio but otherwise all should be fine.

Is anyone considering the white one? I have to be honest, when I think of the Genesis I think of black...red...grey...any color but white. I like white systems, but I just can't imagine playing a white Sega Genesis.

The white one would probably look okay next to a Dreamcast or Japanese Saturn.

I probably won't be getting a hold of this guy anytime soon, but it seems super awesome! Game Gear and Sega CD support are amazing additions compared to other aftermarket hardware that has come out over the years, and the fact that it will be super accurate to the original hardware is even better! Great to see this section of the classic Sega library getting something this fantastic.
To be this good it takes AGES!

*painstakingly wet sanded and then polished.

But yes. It’s very clear now.

I ordered a white Sega clone thing because I know nobody else will.

I don’t really care though, as I’ll eventually end up making new housings for all of the Analogue units. I don’t particularly care for any of their designs, even with this new one being penned by some snooty design house.

I ordered the Japanese MD style colors. The red will still go well with all my US stuff, but the blue should bring it together with the few MD imports I've got, and any TecToy SMS games I might one day pick up. Now to go out and grab some Game Gear games for when the adapter comes out! ;D

I got the US-colored Super Nt last year. Zero regrets!
