That looks discusting.
If those are carts some of those bottom row games might still have functioning boards, so they just need new shells.
But if those are disc cases...

And depending on cancer Stage 3-4 can still be recoverable.

That's insane.  I can't imagine if my whole collection was destroyed like that.  I probably wouldn't even have the mental energy to try and re-build it.  I'd just get my top 3-4 favorite retro consoles and get some everdrives or something. Maybe a few of my favorite games on cart.

I've went through about everything, and I was able to save around 300, as long as the heat didn't get the boards/disc data. I spot checked a few and they appeared ok. That bottom shelf was gba, the smoke damage was horrible inside and I likely won't chance it. Some of the carts were a bit warped. I was able to save almost everything for ds, 3ds, switch, wii, and wii u. A couple from everything else, but it's odd that the Nintendo stuff survived and almost nothing else. Wonder what they put in their stuff lol.

Yes, that picture was my facebook post.

Looking at those pictures made me sad. Everything is now fried crispy. What a shame! I'm very sorry, Jl3legend. I'm always here if you need someone to talk to.

Most of my switch library, which had the least amount of fire, do not work. Keeps giving me read errors no matter how much I clean it. Don't know if I wanna chance using them in the new switch, as it may or may not cause damage. Hard to say how that will work, but it's not looking good for what I pulled out of the fire

My prayers to you and your family, especially regarding your mother's illness. My Mom died from lung cancer, very suddenly 3 years ago. So I have some experience, knowing what its like to have your whole world flipped upside down. God Bless, and keep the faith.

Just an update here. Mom passed about 5 weeks ago. Shes hopefully in a better place though where shes no longer hurting. I've been recollecting again, though it is more current gen than anything else. I have roughly 60 covers that are ready to be scanned. Unfortunately, the scanner I bought seems to he junk. After one scan, it appears to have broken and no longer scans. Hopefully tomorrow I will be attempting to get a better one
