The list of games is pretty dismal, but I think it was a rather smart move on Sony’s part. Think about it. They didn’t spend much on licensing (obviously), and that won’t mean much to the Joe Blow nostalgic guy who will buy it and play it twice a year. And for the folks like us who are more “serious” gamers, they have to know that this thing is gonna be hacked within a couple of weeks, so it doesn’t matter what games it comes with. Hell, it could come with no games on it for all I care.

Sony has the advantage of seeing how this type of product works, care of Nintendo.  I genuinely believe that the lineup is a result of good market research, versus simply not giving a crap.

Yeah, just to be 100% clear, the Japanese lineup is:

Which I personally like better than the US lineup. Oh and Shoot, everyone knows the best snowboarding games are the 1080 and SSX series!

They got a WAAAAAY better lineup than we did. The PS was THE RPG machine!  I still have sealed PS RPGs that I never had a chance to crack open.  In its heyday, I was playing through JRPGs on that console virtually non-stop and still couldn’t come close to keeping up.


I really do hope that they give us a corrected RE:DC, not the screw up of a release that we got way back when.

I wonder how much memory the PS Mini has.
I'll wager on 8 or 16 gigs.

Final Fantasy 7-9 were 11 discs so roughly 7.5 gigs if discs were full.
Riven was 5 discs. so 3+ gigs.

Hopefully someone figures out how to increase the memory capacity.

That will be the biggest issue with hacking the PS Classic.  I don't expect there to be much more room to cover the games that come with it.  So unless hacking also includes expanding the memory, you won't be adding many more games then it can already hold (meaning you will be replacing games, rather than adding).

They have? Nice.
But Sony of course can have put in some measures making it impossible or or harder.
We'll see.

I didn't know about it because I didn't think they really needed to, but if so, then I'm sure the PS1 will be covered as well.

NES has more than enough space to fit all NES games on the console.
SNES can only fit safely ~90 or so games (be it the size of the savestates).
