So this has been announced... the PlayStation classic. 20 built-in games, 45 percent smaller replica, comes with 2 controllers and HDMI out. They're pretty tight-lipped about the games, but the ones that have been confirmed are Final Fantasy 7, Ridge Racer Type 4, jumping flash, Wild Arms and Tekken 3.  $99.

I'm in.  I'm more interested in this then I was with the NES and SNES Classic.   But as with the others, I doubt I will actually play mine.
Maybe, just once, someone will call me "sir" without adding, "you're making a scene."

This actually doesn't interest me even a bit yet.
Spyros are coming soon enhansed, Crashes are alreary.

If it comes with Symphony of the Night... then maybe.
I've always wanted to play it but can't bother to order it and locate my PS1, nor emulate it and I won't buy digital copies.

Yeah, but I'm not getting it to play the games.  As with the NES or SNES Classic, there are much better ways to play the games, even if you don't have the original consoles.  I love the PS1, so I want this in my collection.

PS:  Only Spyro 1 HD will be on disc.  And the Crash remake was shit.

PPS:  Maybe if you didn't have so many GameCubes running Double Dash, you might have room to get a PS1.  :P

PS1 is my favorite console of all time. So I am definitely in. However, I am also very curious as to what games will be on it. I still have my original, as well as 6 or 7 other PS1 models. So I don't need this, however if it has dramatically increased load times for games, as it should because it's emulation, then it could really improve the experience of playing certain titles on official PS1 Hardware. Plus that is one of my favorite controllers, so getting a USB version is awesome

Pass.  Have a great PS1 library/collection and about 4 systems to play them on.

Cool idea though, it's about time they got on the band wagon, and i'm sure it will sell well.

I'm still holding out for a Panasonic 3DO mini :)

Atari (All systems,) Nintendo (All Systems,) Sega (All Systems,) 3DO, CDi, TG-16, Xbox, PS1,2,3, INTV

I have PS1 ::) (4 or 5 actually) I just don't know where they are. I do need to buy the Castlevania though.

Oh and we were really close on playing the 16 player Mario Kart Double Dash this summer... but the weather was too nice so we forgot.

There is still chance that the two other games will be on the disc aswell because if the delay was just due to getting Spyro 2 and 3 ready they could have released the Spyro 1 with note in the case saying that the other two will be downloadable at later date.

I'm aware of the delay, but I still say there is little chance of 2 & 3 on disc.

Well if they are not on disc or are behind some manditory day one DL (thus making the games unplayable in the future from the disc if my console breaks) I will not buy them... and let's say my brother can play his BotW with unbreakable weapons... without Switch... ::)

I was hoping Sony would re-release the PSone but with an optical drive and HDMI. I don't really care for units that have a fixed number of games you can play.

He can play Switch game without Switch (unbreakable weapons was just for there as BotW is way funnier to play that way than with breakable weapons).
Or to put it straight: If "physical" Spyro 2 and 3 mean that they still need to be downloaded or unlocked online I too will buy powerful enough Computer to play pirated versions SO I CAN HAVE ACTUAL PHYSICAL BACK-UPS TO PLAY FOREVER WITHOUT THE FEAR OF EVER LOSING THEM FOR MACHINE BREAKING OR SOMETHING.

Does one really need one because of PS3?
All versions have HDMI and are 100% PS1 backwards compatible, right?

NES Classic is easily hack-able
SNES Classic is easily hack-able
Sega Genesis HD Flashback is easily hack-able

Bought one just because I know that this will one day be hacked, and would rather have one on hand when it does.

Playing on original hardware is just the tits.  Also, you can play the games but not use any peripherals. No GameShark, no PS Mouse, one handed controller, light gun, or any other crazy Contraptions that came out in that era. Besides, who still has a PS3 hooked up?
