Make sure you try out the Bridge Constructor game.  It's a lot of fun.

Had the Craigslist deal of the century for me regarding computers

My uncles hard drive was starting to fail, so I swapped over his failing hard drive to another to get him by and started looking for a replacement as his CPU benchmark is only 1800 (a decent $200 computer nowadays benches at around 2000).  Couldn't find anything local, so looked out of state for the heck of it.  Found a listing that seriously looked like a scam, and almost didn't reach out to the guy...

My PC's current benchmark

Mom's PC's current benchmark

He had multiple i5 PC's for $50 each.  Grabbed 5x and a laptop (i3) for $300

Dell Optiplex 3010 (1x)

Dell Optiplex 3040 (4x)

The i3 laptop benches at 3000, nothing too terrible, but hey, christmas gift for my sister :D

PC Replacements - 1x for my uncle, 1x for my mom, 1x for me
Possible MAME machines - 2x lol

Can't wait to add SSD's to these and get them set up!  Already have a 480GB SSD in my pc and a 240GB SSD in moms.  Just gotta do some cleaning :)

Not bad seeing the 70 mile one way drive =)  $35ish in gas

Obviously I could google it, but I’d rather just ask what this thing does? :P

Ugh. Dell computers. Don’t even get me started. My wife’s all-in-one (that I seriously warned her against) took a shit after 6 months and probably about 30 hours of use.

It’s currently in my shop waiting to be gutted...

Playstation Everdrive would be accurate description.

Might get one too later.

Arseen pretty much covered it.  To give a little more detail, it's an SD based ISO loader that plugs into the parallel port of the original PS1.  It can be used to load PS1 ISO's (like the GDEmu) without removing the ability to still play original discs (unlike the GDEmu).

Obviously, it's only compatible with the original PS1 model with the parallel port.  Unfortunately, it requires some minor soldering on the board to make the PSIO work.  That's the only real disappointment.  It's not as plug and play as they wanted it to be when the project began.  Also, the development process has been slow, and the cost is pretty high, but honestly, that's to be expected.

Maybe, just once, someone will call me "sir" without adding, "you're making a scene."

Dell PC problems I have encountered in my lifetime (as I have only ever owned Dell):
Faulty HDD
Bad RAM
CMOS Battery dead
Dead USB slots
Incompatible Hardware with Windows 10 that constantly screws up screen resolution
Dead CD Drive that halted entire boot process
Old machine would not allow SD Cards to be inserted during boot up
CPU Dead from power outage / spike

Laptop problems on the other hand.... lol...:
MOBO Died
While Tech was replacing the MOBO, after turning it on, it instantly blew up in his face
Replaced battery
Replaced charger
Replaced MOBO again
Replaced charge port
Faulty hinge for lid to secure screen in place
Plastic on lid near hinges detacted and would not snap back together
Keyboard failure for only the keys of --2 W S X--
Clip under left side of mouse broke, so only the right side of the left mouse button worked
Heatsync failure and sounded like a jet engine every 5 minutes

Laptop 2
Wont turn on unless the screen was angled at a specific 32º angle
battery completely dead
charger wont charge
mouse keys wont work at all, have to use touchpad
etc
etc
etc

I mean I can go on.  The i5-6500 CPU is between 4x $100-150 each ($400-600) and take the 8GB RAM sticks 4x $50-80 ($200-320), I'm already $600-920, when I only paid $200 on the 4.  If the worst comes to the worst, I'll part it and buy a new MOBO that has 4x RAM slots for $70 each.  But I have never had a catastrophic problem with Dell computers.  Backup your data and you will be fine.

Every all-in-one is Garbage. "I have an idea lets mount a computer on the back of a 24 inch hot plate"
