Want to know who uses screen protectors for their handhelds. Is it necessary if you're careful? Can it affect stylus use sensitivity? Thoughts?

Quality clickbait.

I've only ever put protection on the top screens of my original DSes, when the sensitivity was already so low that putting an extra layer on top of that was suicide. Maybe it's better now. IDK. I don't play lots of touch screen-based stuff, and doubt that I'm in the minority on that, so I'm sorry I can't really help you. Try checking Amazon reviews or that sort of thing, and if you do end up going for it, please give us your impressions.

I didn't put screen protectors on the DS / 3DS figuring the clamshell would protect them , but i did for the Wii U and the Switch. It never interfered with the touch screen at all. Plus they're not expensive and they are peace of mind for your $200+ system. If you don't like it, they typically peel off easily and you're only out like $10 - $15. On the flip side, if anything happens to the screen, you'd be kicking yourself for not spending $10 on a screen protector.

I used to but have not in about ten years or so.  My Vita literally gets tossed in a small pocket in my backpack everyday with pens, cards, a bottle opener, etc... never an issue.

I don't like screen protectors.  I don't use them on my phones, and I don't use them on my video games consoles.
Maybe, just once, someone will call me "sir" without adding, "you're making a scene."

I used them regularly for a while but am starting to think they are a waste, especially if you take care of your systems like I do.

Have one on my Vita, but pulled the plastic one off my GBA recently because there were bubbles near the edge (can't stand those!)  Have never rocked one on my Wii U gamepad.

I think like anything else you just have to care for your system.  Plastic screens are more susceptible to scratching than glass for sure...
