| August 2018 - Last Chance for Summer Pickups |

So, not a gaming pickup per say, but I use my computer for some games once in a while so, it counts, right... Picked up a load of frustration and aggravation today... Windows 10 did an update (despite me seemingly having told my computer not to in multiple ways). After the update, my laptop would not go into sleep mode. Well, it actually did, but only for two seconds, then the drive and fans started whirring again. When I open the lid to resume, the screen wouldn't come back one, even though the computer was running. Fed up with this crap, I went to roll back the latest update, only to find it get stuck in a "restoring your files" loop where it would constantly restart itself over and over again. That ran for about three hours before I decided it just wasn't working. So, I had to reinstall windows. Thankfully, I was able to recover my files (500+ GB worth - Tuesday is my normal backup day and I'd added a lot since the last time, not worrying about it because before the 'update' my system was running wonderfully). Unfortunately, all my apps, programs, and personal setting were wiped, so I have to spend at least a full day reinstalling all of those. Over three dozen things that I use at least weekly need to be readded, so... FUN!!! Sorry about the rant. Was ever so close to tossing this damned laptop in the pool a few hours ago. Seems to be running fine now with the new windows install. Even fixed the sleep issue apparently. This whole mess has made me decide to invest in a solid state hard drive, so I'll be switching the HDD out soonish. That way if Windows next 'super awesome update' breaks the sleep cycle again, I can just power down and not need to wait ten minutes to boot up and kill a few processes that always start, even though I have them set not to. Been wanting a SSD for a while, so I'm just gonna do it. Made myself feel better from all the frustration by buying a new Midnight Blue PS4 controller tonight though. Got it at Target with a Costco price match and gift card, so brand new Midnight Blue controller for $40. |

All the inserts (foam / cardboard / manuals) are in the box. I just need a copy of the triple cart to make it complete. --- End quote --- I have two copies of the triple cart, PM me your address and I will mail it to you. |

Some finds from the flea market this weekend. Always cool to find TG16 games in the wild. |

My knockoff xbox 360 controllers came in and I must say that are better quality than I expected. I Added a steam logo to the blank silver home button because I bought these for my steam link. This Was advertised on my local CL as not working. Got it for $10 and cleaned all the roaches out of it and did a pot tweak on the laser and it is all good now. So I have a 5 year old little girl and she want to play games with me..... This was $15 at my local Wal-Mart so I grabbed it and we are having a blast in the toybox. |
