Ever since the site went down and then came back online, I've been intermittently going from being "banned" to having access.  It seems to happen every few days.  i.e. I'll be able to log on and post for a few days, then I'll be banned for a couple of days.  Not sure if this is affecting anyone else, but I spoke with Shenske and he doesn't know what the issue is (other than me having a zillion different IP addresses from which I've logged in).

Until I clear cookies, I will see this message indefinitely.

We know and this has affected quite a few members.
It most likely has something to do with this change implemented to the site while ago:
http://www.thecoverproject.net/forums/index.php?topic=24063.0
As it cached stuff closer to the user.

Quote from my message on things I've noticed:

The ban thing too started when you did the Cloudfire thing, and it's sort of "fake ban"
When I check member that sayshe/she is banned they are not according to their profile.
To my knowledge in these cases none of us have actually banned anyone, and 99.9% (one has not been solved so far but not sure was he real) of the time asking member to clear their browser's cookies and cache solves the "fake ban".

In a recent change that put the content here at The Cover Project behind a CDN, we've noticed a huge influx of messages indicating that people were banned. In researching this issue, it seems that the forums are showing this message to users that are not in fact banned.

If you are seeing a banned message, please clear your cookies and cache and try to login again. In virtually all cases, this has resolved the issue. If you can't get that to work, as always, you can reach the admin team at forum_admins [at] thecoverproject.net

I had the "banned" issues several months ago, and luckily it hasn't hit me again since.  I know several others have had the issue as well and Snowcone has a new thread about it that he posted yesterday.  Luckily it seems to be an easy fix.  I'm curious if anyone who has cleared their cache has had the issue come back again or if it's been a permanent fix (so far).
Maybe, just once, someone will call me "sir" without adding, "you're making a scene."

The interesting part is that i'm not caching the forums in the CDN. It's completely bypassing it. I've got some more reading to do to ensure it doesn't continue. For all I know.... we have accidentally banned one of the CloudFlare IPs that is proxying the forum traffic.

It is not about you personally. I am sure, you have your reasons and I know, that you don't do this for profit. ;)

I just feel like 6 month response time is way too much and I wish there would be more comunication with users.
It is alright, if you are not able to fix an issue right away, but at least let people know that you are aware of the problem and that it will get fixed eventually.

It is nice to hear that you still feel commited to this project though.  :)

I get it. The forum and site admins are here because I can't always be. As long as I'm alive and have money, this site will stay online.

Almost every day,  across multiple devices at the moment.  Hasn’t happened today yet, but it did yesterday.

This doesn't fix the problem for me.  I've tried on numerous PCs, with a few browsers, and my phone.  Clearing it only means I can access the forum, but as soon as I try to login, BAN.

Then it'll just randomly allow me to login a day or two later.

I've got the same problem that Wiggy has.
It happens really random and across multiple devices.

Maybe changing your IP-adress might help?

My phone has a non-static IP address. Most do.

I suggested the IP address, because you said the issue occurs on multiple divices (at the same time?) and resolves itself every 1-2 days.

If all of your devices use the same network (router), they all use the same IP address going out. And dynamic addresses are often changed every 1-2 days...  :)

You could test this theory, by manually changing your IP address in your router settings.

I’m not using WiFi on my phone.

I’ve also tried from my home and business networks.
