Ok so i got annoyed at trying to make PS1 raws fit into dvd cases, sick of PS1 cases cracking all the time and pissed off at the many different sizes sony released the games in, so im gona scan em into half size dvd cases, the dimensions of the cases i am using personally and to which my covers are made is 115mm high, 130mm wide and 13mm thick. Ill chuck in some previews of the covers i make, if anyone wants to try them out ill link the file. Oh by the way these are all Pal scans and they aint the best dpi, they just dont want to stay at 300, but hey once they are printed it doesnt really matter much. There fine for me so dont QQ to much :)

Edit: Ill just keep adding them here once i do them.

I know exactly what you mean about making PS1 covers fit DVDs and judging from the fact these are all PAL scans are you from the UK/EU. Because if so, please agree with me that the plastic cases were pathetic. Because there was so much distance between the plastic and the manual (especially with small manuals) any slight knock would cause splinters/cracks in the case. Also, because the cases had the word PlayStation embedded in them anal retentive people like me who like uniform collections could only use the crap official cases (sacrificing many a copy of FIFA 98).

So yes, I would be interested.

The main point of me rambling on was to ask whether you scanned the spines/legal text or did you retype? I found out what the official font was but can't remember for the life of me.

I think it was one of the Adobe Franklin Gothic fonts, but I'm too busy atm to establish exactly which one.

Retyped, my font is actually "Arial Heavy" seems closest to the blocky text of the originals, yeah although on the subject of too much room for the manuals i just realised these cases wont hold my manual for Space Hulk: Vengeance of the Blood Angels, its 10MM THICK!

Are these half height DVD cases what te name implies? Meaning same width for back, spine and front and half the height? Or did you find half height cases that retain the wide spine from the PS1 PAL games? At least in Germany the Network Access Disc that came with the network adapter for PS2 came in a case that is similar to a DS case. It's a blue amaray case with PS logo, just like the retail PS2 DVD cases. But when the PS1 was on the top of its game video stores had these cases for rentals. They were black instead of blue, without the PS logo and there were cases with the same size holding up to 4 discs.

As you can see in the pictures they can hold thicker manuals. The manual in the pictures is about 5mm and you could fit even thicker ones in there with the case still closing. If you remove the clamps you could fit your Space Hulk manual. If you can find the cases that is. I wasn't able to find them, which is sad because PS1 games came in all kinds of cases and really look like crap on the shelf. I have at least 4 different case types. Doom even came in a double disc case like Rebel Assault 2 although Doom is a 1-disc game.

If i could get 50+ of those blue PS cases i would gladly make a NTSC template and covers for that size case.
Having that official PS logo on the inside of the case is awesome.

I'm assuming though you cant buy them anywhere.  :(

I have found the black ones. They're called CD safe boxes. Here's a picture of a 2-disc case.

You can find them pretty easy just google it. I found shops in Germany, the UK and the U.S selling them in increments ranging from 1 to 50. I can't find the blue ones with the PS logo though. I guess they were custom build for the Network adapter discs.

Yeah, the Network Access Disk in the UK also had that blue case (at least mine looks identical). It still took me four weeks to get my PS2 online (turns out my ISP wasn't playing ball, but that's a different story for a different time).
