I recently bought a house and became aware just how much sunlight comes into my living room.  I'd hate to rearrange all of my furniture (and extremely heavy TV) to protect my games and movies from getting faded.  I thought about trying to get some of that film for my windows to reduce the UV rays.  I also considered trying to get some sort of black curtain or something to attach to the top of the shelves and drop it when it's sunny.  Rearranging the living room would not just be a huge pain, but it would also place my movies and games in an inconvenient spot where I can't easily access them.  At the same time I don't want my collection fading.  I know this will happen over time because my old roommate's collection is severely faded from the sun.  Any suggestions?

I do have curtains up on both windows.  Even with the curtains shut tight, the light comes right through the living room door windows.  That door has stained glass on either side of it that just shoots right in and zeroes in on my shelves.  I might have to get curtains for them too sadly.

UV blocking film is BS. Get curtains/blinds.
