Hi! Before having my doubt answered, I would like to give my thanks to all those who have been working here! I´ve know this websites for some time now and I´ll be helping with some covers that I have not see yet uploaded.

My question is, I usually scan my covers at 300dpi minimum (right now, I plan on using 400dpi or 600dpi) and the problem lies on the resolution of the final cover. As you know, when scanning and fixining in Photoshop we end up cutting some pixels after we get the cover straight in the program and then just cut "the cover" leaving out the grey/white area of the scanner.
Now... I have seen alot of scans that are usually 3366 x 2100, yet on my 2 covers I have uploaded so far (at most, I´ve cut 10px from either side) and, is there any fixed size or something for those covers (they are Megadrive/genesis ones), however I do not like to mess with the resolution as the image usually tends to get not well formatted or in shape with the case (for those who print).

So, could you check the scans in the upload area with the nick EagleEye on them and tell me if they are acceptable as they are, or you want them to follow the "template" of the 3366x2100?

Thanks :)

*edit - These are the scans so far:

Mortal Kombat 3 EU Cover
The Story of Thor EU Cover
Wonder Boy in Moster World EU Cover

Scans are always resized and fitted in the template when an cover artist takes the raw and works on it....

Just upload the covers with 600dpi(derasterized/descreened) and nothing changed in the resolution department... ;)
2 + 3 = 23

But I can always fix/clean (colors - closer to the original, the better) the scan in terms of dust and the like and the just upload the scan (still at 600dpi) and already "straight" right? Or do you guys prefer to get the raw scan and do the cleaning (the quality standards differ from person to person) so that's why I´m asking :)

I´ve worked in the past in this department (anime Covers) so I´m confident I can do a good job when it comes to cleaning (even though, those I´ve uploaded could get some more work on them in some areas)

Thanks again :D I´ll be uploading scans from those , not yet available ion the website. The "upload" folden has ay to many folder of users and other scansfor me to check those ones 100%, so there'll be some duplicates.

Thanks!

Speaking for myself I enjoy using unmodified versions of raws, do you have more to upload?
