I think if anyone is looking for something that's JUST RIGHT for them.... building it is the only way to go.

My Wal-Mart book case fell apart under the weight of my Guides and my wife's books

Cheap particle board and poor quality backing were to blame for its demise, and my wife tried to move it by pushing it without lifting it ::)

Strange as I've had over 9 of them over the years, had to sell 4 of 'em when I made a cross country move, and they've never broken down on me or ever had problems and I stock my shelves full of hardcover books, magazines, games, etc.

really? 300 bucks seems a bit much.... if your ANY good with lumber (and I mean just basics) you can get the stuff to make something for a third of that... and probably end up holding more.   700 DVDs isn't much when you think about it.

My shelves hold close to 1000 of a mix of Dvds and Games and I "mickey moused" them together for about 60 bucks....80 tops.

But of you want your area to look immaculate and pristine I guess buying Media towers is the only way to go (unless your a Kick Ass Carpenter)

Personally I'd save an extra hundred bucks and get this: http://www.stacksandstacks.com/media-tower-holds-2262-cds It holds a little more than 200 More DVDs

all of these look nice but the problem with any type of shelving when you're OCD is the future.

Say you put your PS2 games on two shelves. your Sci-Fi DVDs on one.... and so on.
It looks great and then you buy a bunch more and it doesn't fit.
Now you not going to have one lone PS2 game on the Wii shelf, that's just wrong right? so the only real solution is to widen the whole thing......
"Could this be... an omen?!"
