Ya know, I'm still not getting exactly how big these are... any chance you have a picture that shows off the scale? Like, maybe a pic of Mega Man right next to you?

Ever thought about doing some larger sprites like, maybe... Darkstalkers? (I'm such a fan boy.) I'd probably pay good money for a Felicia or Jedah. (Ya know - if I get a job.)

If that's too large, how about Katt's battle sprite from Breath of Fire II?

Yup, I'm amazed by your bead sprites but I do think you really should place them next to something we all know the size of. When you take pictures of them could you place them next to a DVD case for example? We all know how big they are and they're basically the same size around the world. That would give us a much better understanding of the scale and we could appreciate your work and effort even more!

I took this photos a while ago so I can't go back and add anything for size reference now. Until I take new pics, I'll try to remember to add measurements.

Bartender Mix Kirby is 19 cm x 15.5 cm.

the7k - If you have any requests, please email me the sprites you want. sprites need to be in either .gif or .png format, never jpeg. if its part of a sprite set, open it in paint or something and remove all sprites you don't want to see and leave what you do. I can't promise I'll do fulfill every request I get, but I do promise that I will take them into consideration and evaluate if I can do it. As always, my email address is satoshimatrix@hotmail.com.

Here's some more.

The P-38 Lightening American fighter made famous from World War II and even more famous by the classic 80's Capcom arcade shooters, 1942 and 1943.  I edited the colors slightly to better reflect what P-38's actually looked like. This sprite is fairly small, measuring 7 x 11 cm.

Auto is the assistant Dr. Light built to replace his former robotic assistant, Rock, whom was converted into the fighting robot Megaman to fight the forces of Dr. Wily and defend justice. Auto appears in a cameo in Megaman X3, making him the only canon classic series character to have survived into the 22nd century. However, this would make Auto over one hundred years old and many fans consider his presence non-canon by virtue of how silly it would be that minor character Auto outlived everyone else. Sprite is slightly color enhanced from Megaman 9.  Auto is 11 cm x 12 cm.

And finally.......

The robot masters, called Star Droids, from Megaman V on the Gameboy.

From left to right, top to bottom:
Mercury, Venus, Neptune, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Terra, and Pluto.

As the Gameboy was black and white and even with Super Gameboy Support, the spirtes lack any color, these sprites were painstakingly recolored by hand to reflect their original full-color artwork, making them appear as if they were enhanced NES sprites. As a bonus I've included the original sprites below just so you can see how many work needed to be done! [Side note: I changed Saturn's left arm slightly from another frame because I liked it better. Other than that, I made no changes.]

Megaman sprites generally range from 10 - 20 cm tall and anywhere from 10 - 20 cm across.

No comments? Aw come on guys, I love reading 'em!

Anyway, here's some new sprites. Enjoy.

Color enhanced Wily in his signature UFO. This coloring is somewhere inbetween the NES games and the Genesis remake colors. I used what I had.

Color enhanced sprites. Tango the cat is from Megaman V and is probably the least known MM sidekick. Protoman sports his victory pose from the arcade games and in Megaman 9. I just corrected his helmet and shield to be white instead of grey. Roll is unaltered from Megaman 9.

Rockman in a different sprite style than the classic we all know and Roll in a sort of 8-bit Marvel Vs Capcom sprite.

I love that you are showing Mega Man V on the Game Boy some love, as it is my favorite original Mega Man entry. Capcom really pulled out all the stops on MMV, and it is still incredibly fun.

Perhaps if you want to try larger sprites again sometime, you should give Mega Man from Marvel vs Capcom, or Zero from SNK vs Capcom: Chaos a shot.

Thanks! I think Megaman V is the most underrated game in the whole series. Original bosses, the Mega Arm made it unique, and Wily wasn't the final boss!

I am still sore with Capcom for cancelling Megaman Mania which would have given us full color Megaman V as well as the other ones. Taking that in mind, I decided if Capcom won't give the Star Droids color, then goddamnit, I will then. I had to refer to the manual of the Japanese version as I don't own the English Megaman V, only Rockman World 5. I think I got the colors right. It was a real challenge as the source material is so scarce.

As for 32 bit sprites.....someday. I want to tackle 16-bit first. My next big Megaman project will be Megaman X.

I really loved how the end of the game turned into a shmup - and a really good one at that. Man, I loved that game.

Time to showcase my newest sprites. Every major classic Rockman game has been covered by me except for one: Rockman & Forte. I figured that I should change that! I present you: Megaman & Bass 8-bit customs!

Decided to take them on my kitchen floor for a change. and added a ruler for scale!
Custom 8-bit Boss sprites from Megaman & Bass. From left to right and top to bottom: Coldman, Pirateman, Burnerman, Tenguman, Megaman, Bass, Astroman, Magicman, Groundman, Dynamoman.
Note that these sprites have all been color enhanced beyond the capabilities of the NES color pallet. I based their proper colors on official character artwork.

Next comes the classic Megaman boss portraits! I'll be uploading a set from each game each day so stay tuned!

Each are 32 x 32 beads, making each sprite a total of 1024 beads per sprite. (6.5" x 6.5" each) This sure does add up over time, espically the number of black beads needed. I should also mention that, like my other sprites, these portraits resemble their NES counterparts exactly, except for when the NES counterpart were colored incorrectly due to color limitations. which happened a lot, especially in terms of eye color.  I have meticulously recolored all the miscolored portraits based on their official artwork.

Portraits of the first nine robots built by Dr. Light. From top to bottom, left to right: Protoman, Megaman, Roll, Cutman, Gutsman, Bombman, Iceman, Fireman, Elecman. Although Megaman 1 characters, these portraits actually come from the ending of Megaman 3.

There's Megaman 1 covered. Megaman 2 coming next!

Haha, I laughed. not only at the video, but you bringing that up.

Anyways, onward I march with portraits.

Portraits of the first nine robots built by Wily from Megaman 2. From top to bottom, left to right: Bubbleman, Airman, Quickman, Heatman, Woodman, Metalman, Flashman, Crashman. Again, color corrected, enhanced, and generally awesome. Who doesn't like Megaman 2? I mean really. Best game ever!

I know I suck at MM and MM9, but I don't recall if I ever played MM2 or MM3. If I did, I know I sucked at them. If I didn't I would have finished them. :P

Daily update time!

Portraits of the robots from Megaman 3. From top to bottom, left to right: Sparkman, Snakeman, Needleman, Hardman, Megaman, Topman, Geminiman, Magnetman, Shadowman.

For those who've never played it for whatever reason, Megaman 3 is perhaps the best in the series, one of the best games for the NES, and one of the best games to come out in 1990. and that's saying A LOT.
