I have a metric crapload of PS2 games (~150) and as a result have accumulated many memory cards (about 10 - all official, had bad experiences with 3rd party PS1 ones).

Anyway, the problem with having so many is that often I may wish to revisit something, say GTA:Vice City and think "Crap! What memory card was my 100% game complete save so I can mess around with the Hunter". In a roundabout way, what I'm trying to say is I'm going to try and organise my memory cards. Given that the Amaray PS2 case had a memory card slot, this is ideal, if a bit wasteful of space and I don't mind sacrificing a couple of quid to buy 10 copies of 5 year old sports titles just for the cases. Will use the PS2 template with "Official Sony Memory Card 01,02,03 etc." down the spines and on the back list the games that it have saves for. I'm also thinking about using a background similar to that of the Network Access Disc but not entirely sure. Anyway, the problem I've come up against is getting some decent memory card images for the front cover. Can anyone help me out with how I could get one. Also, whilst not essential, I have them in a few differrent colours (Black, Silver, Translucent Red and Translucent Blue), so any suggestions that could take that into account would also be helpful. Thanks.

hm, I'm thinking making each cover coordinate with the cover of the PS1/2 memory card. On the back I'd probably go with white with a bunch of lines to write game names on. I'm thinking not bothering with putting the names of the games on the actual cover in case you decide to buy a new game/play around with saves, that way you can write new ones in when you wish. On the spines I'd just go with "PS1/PS2 Memory Card" And the color of the spine to match the card. Maybe even put an image of the memory card at the bottom of each spine? On the front I'm thinking the same text with the picture of the memory card centered at the bottom. Whoever makes the cover can fancy up the fonts as they wish to make it look cool. The only problem I can think of is having boring flat colors for the cover backgrounds, so then again guess it's up to the creativity of the cover artist.

Matter of fact, I really like this idea, I might use it too. I don't know if you have PS1 memory cards that need storing too, but I'd suggest someone just throwing together a series of PS1/2 memory card covers with blank backs.

Hey, just for the hell of lumping these memory card cover requests in, could someone do the same for the gamecube and psp? Same idea as above, just need to account for the many different colors/sizes. Maybe for a job as big as the (with all the varying sizes) this could be a request thread. (system, color, memory capacity) But I digress. Hope this was of use to you. :D

Thanks for the ideas I'll bear some of them in mind. The only problem like I stated in my original post is how to get decent images. If/when I get a decent black memory card image, I will definitely consider doing reds/blues/silvers etc. but I think I will start with just black. Also, I'm thinking if I do make it I will probably just do white spines with black text to go with the uniform look of the UK PAL spines, but may stick images on the spines in a template if I do one for other people

I do have PS1 and Gamecube cards as well. It's just I have only a handful of games for the PS1 and as such only about 3 or 4 memory cards and two 251 GCN cards so it's not really as much of an issue for me, but would like to get around to it eventually.

Yeah, I'm only looking for about 2 ps1 cases, 2 gamecube, 2 psp, and 3 or 4 ps2 ones. They're just so easy to lose that I'd like to have 'em all in cases. Matter of fact to fill out the first request:

PS1
Translucent Green x1
translucent Blue (Gamestop brand, but if there's a sony card that image'll do) x1

PS2
Black x2
Translucent Green x1
Translucent Red x1

GCN
Black, 251 blocks x2
Grey, Animal Crossing ones, 52 blocks x2 (Maybe these ones could go for a special cover, seeing as they're designated for one game only)

PSP
Black 32mb x1
Black 1 gig x1

Black PS2 Card (don't know if this is workable, best one I could find in large/extra large size): http://img16.imageshack.us/img16/999/mem1j.jpg
Grey PS1 Card Image: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/c/cb/Memory_Card_for_PlayStation.jpg
This is the type of image I was thinking of. Just a straight up picture of the memory card from the front

Ah, so you're going for PAL covers then? lol then I guess I can go ahead and request for colored spines myself :P

PS2 Logo: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:PlayStation_2_logo.svg I was thinking of putting this at the top of the cover, so it would basically say: "PS2 Memory Card". Or for a more unifor look for other covers, just go "Memory Card for:" then the console logo.

idk, it's a start. I'll throw together a preview whenever I get the time (probably during the weekend)

Hmmm. I might have a play around with that black PS2 memory card image and see what I can do. There's just quite a bit of camera flash and I'm not the greatest person in the world to be able to photoshop that out. Might give it to one of my friends though and see what he can do with it though. The grey PS1 one seems ok though.

Was also thinking that all PS2 accessories (in the UK at least) had bright yellow packaging at least memory cards, controllers and multitaps did. Sony seemed to pull it off relatively well, but seems a bit garish and I can imagine messing that up quite badly. Probably won't include it, but it did occur to me today.

For games that take an entire memory card and/or came bundled with one (Animal Crossing/Pokémon Box/Pokémon Coliseum etc.) I just put the memory card in the case in question, but a special cover doesn't seem like a bad idea either.

Yeah, good point, I just manage to have a spare card lying around.

Oh yeah the only PS2 memory card I actually bought (and didn't get for free from a friend :P ) had that yellow packaging. Maybe a good alternative, but I kind of like stuff that's less bright for home use. I think the only case I have that's allowed to be that yellow is Persona 4 :P
