Hi I am just looking for some basic photoshop help please.

I just cant get my colors right. The scanner is calibrated. When I auto colour in PS the image gets a whole blue tinge to it.

I've been reading up about adjusting levels & tried many print options etc but this is the closest I can get.

Thanks in Advance.

Image>levels

Adjust the main sliders at the top and bottom end of the spectrum.

This will deepen the blacks, and lighten the whites, as well as the general saturation of the image.  It will make a huge difference, but don’t adjust it too far.

If you want finer control over your colors, convert the scan to CMYK under Image>Mode. That will give you the 4 channels to work with, and that is what the original was printed with.

I know it's not the same but I was able to get an OK result by selecting your scanned part of your image and playing with the CMYK level output.

You can convert back to RGB afterwards if you want to.

That's how I'm comfortable doing color manipulation, but I have worked on a CMYK press and done some color correcting - it just takes practice to know what to move.

It's always better to leave this stuff in instead of deleting in case someone with a similar question comes around and finds it.
Maybe, just once, someone will call me "sir" without adding, "you're making a scene."

The "pal version" or "G"?

Pal version looks like Ariel Bold to me.

For the G I've got nothing.  I tried putting that font through whatdafont (via clipping from other covers on the site with the same rating icons) and didn't get a direct match.

Thanks Wiggy. Aerial Bold was a good shout I think. I selected Aerial Black as it was a bit chunkier and robbed the G from another RAW. Thanks again.
