  • I'm kind of idle... at least for now.
Here's what I picked up recently. Well, if you call Sunday, December 3rd recent.

At the local Kolbey's Swap Meet, I happened to get two TDK D90 Blank Type-1 Audio Cassettes. The seller was selling each for $1.00.

I have no use for these at the moment. The only cassette deck I have for use is an Aiwa CX-NA707, which has a 3-CD Changer on the top and Double cassette decks on the bottom: the left for playback only, and and the right for playback and recording. It refuses to play back any cassette inserted, however, likely due to the rubber belt needing replacement. It can, however can be used as an external system for powering anything that can take L and R RCA jacks, knowing that it comes with a left and right speaker. In my experience, only one of two speakers work, likely due to the wire for the speaker not making contact.

Less interesting, though is a used loose copy of Tetris. It is REV-A, since I have tested it and it does play the Korbelenki (probably spelled wrong) theme in-game.

The back however, had been engraved with possibly a 3 and a symbol.

Who could possibly know what that means? We may never know.

More likely someone’s initials.  MH or HW.  Perhaps you have Mark Hamils original copy of Tetris. Lol

Maybe. Again, we may never know.

Yay! more ebay hunting!

More to come hopefully. Still can not find a 2nd ps3 for multiplayer local.

So A friend sent me a PS3 slim with the words F#(K Gamestop carved into the top of it. Yay it is free but the sanding has started.

A few things from local shops.

Just leaving to search for Booze, fun, Xbox One X, PS4 Pro, and a rag doll.

Still having some influensa (not flu but full blown influensa with pneumonia) symptoms but 3 days of rest with strong antibiotics, strong Ibuprofen and 2 different Astma inhalers... the fuck I'm gonna miss my cruise!!!
Won't drink alcohol due to the antibiotics but rest of the cruise should be fun... and of course I'll bring "some" alcohol back with me.

Hasta mañana!

I'm back, and oh did we have fun!
Me and my friend were sober (I was on antibiotics, he doesn't drink), but nobody else was.
And as it's so called Little Christmas (= Office Christmas Party) time the rest reaaaally weren't sober.
We stayed at boat's Disco until it closed at 5AM so we saw quite a few things.

One person of let's say minority color (as that pissed drunk Finns extra bad) took underskirt shot of drunk Finnish girl, which she noticed.
She grabbed the phone and while screaming as hard as she could at the other person broke the phone in 2 and threw the pieces across the full boose soaked dancefloor where it got trambled...

At the end of the evening I was also asked to the dancefloor persistenly by one person, and not at all bad looking (8, I maybe 5)... too bad it was a dude.
Altough I think he just wanted everyone to dance, but I was too tired at that point.
Or he wanted to pick-pocked drunks (which he did notice I wasn't) because he kept wanting to me take his hand with always the hand I had my phone in... When I changed hand the phone was in so did he change the hand he was offering to me.

Helsinki

2 quotes from November topic.

Oh and I just bought bus and boat tickets to Estonia so I can go fill my booze cabinet.

----- Start of rant -----
Funny how it's cheaper to buy 24 cans of beer or 2 liters of vodka from Estonia (2* 300KM on bus + 22h cruise (of which 4 hours (12 if you go discoing on the city instead of sleeping on the boat) time to visit the city of Tallin) instead of buying them from local alcohol shop, let alone if you'd live in Helsinki (no need for the bus so cheaper) where difference in price of 0.5 liters of Vodka would cover the 22h cruise.

No wonder Estonia scaled back on raising the alco tax when Finns and Estonians started visiting Latvia for the cheaper booze, instead of what Finnish coverment does = act happy when alco sales drop when taxes are raised (they act as they'd think Finns are sobering as booze bought from Estonia is not counted...).

As both Finland and Estonia are part of EU Finns can bring pretty much as much alcohol free from Finnish taxes as they please.
So Estonia gets tax money and Finland pays the negative effects of booze.
----- End of rant -----

It's cheaper to buy bus and boat tickets than booze!?  What kind of taxes do you guys have over there!?
It's 4 sprong thing:
1: Difference in alcohol tax between Finland and Estonia.
2: Difference in vages (and thus price of things) between Finland and Estonia.
3: Real competition between bus companies.
4: Boat companies making most of the money on additional (but not mandatory) things like Estonia tax booze sales and food, and keep cruise prices super low to actract people on basic cruises.

Let me give explanation:
1 and 2: 0.5 liter bottle of vodka in Finland 16 Euros, same bottle in Estonia 10 Euros. = 4 bottles save 24 Euros.
3: Bus ticket can be as low as 3 Euros per trip + 1 Euro for reservation fee. = 2-way ticket + reservation is 7 Euros. Add to that inter Helsinki bus tickets 3.2 Euros per way from city center to boat tarminal and back and we're still at 13.4 Euros.
4: Cruise tickets start from 8 Euros with mini cabin.

True that the whole trip for me takes 40 hours versus less than 1 hour using local alco shop.
But take suitcase with wheels for more booze and savings are great, easily in hundreds if not thousands if you buy better whisky or cognag.
Of course one could bring more than needed and illegally sell the surplus... I won't, I'll just bring what I need for next 6 months, them do the cruise again as it's very enjoyable experience.

Or live in Helsinki from where you can make the trip in 12 hours using express boats.

And yes I brought boose.

So this came in he mail today. This bad boy is 100% authentic, complete and in fantastic shape. This is one I’ve been wanting to knock off my list for a long time. The rarest of the Genesis games I still want for my collection. The others go down significantly working my way down from here!

A friend of mine who is into video games, but isn't a collector decided to get ride of these.  I got a good deal, but I didn't screw him over since he is a friend.

Also, this arrived today.  It's officially the quickest I've ever received a Kickstarter reward.

Maybe, just once, someone will call me "sir" without adding, "you're making a scene."

Damn, I wish I'd known about this kickstarter. Did anyone post a link here while it was going on? I know it's still available from the Geeks Line website but it would have been nice to catch the early bird pricing. I'm going to be picking this up for sure.
