I'm attempting to make a template to easily use the limited artwork and information thats available for XBLA titles... I'm not the best with photoshop, so I need some feedback  ;)

Here's what I've got so far.

I grabbed those two 360 covers to use as examples to get the positioning right for the spines, and I swear everything lined up until I put it into Imandix. It cropped off the edges a little also... (not to mention the extremely awkward setup for rotating and positioning the cases)
Heavy Weapon's spine title looks too cramped also... I'll fix that too...

I used slim case dimensions so they will take up less shelf space (since they are only placeholders after all) but that can be easily altered.

Any ideas? comments? suggestions? insults? praise? threat letters? ...I'm going to bed... let me know watcha think  :P

Simply amazing! I've honestly always wanted Xbox Live Arcade covers since I saw the WiiWare covers project. The only shame about the WiiWare project is that people never followed up on it and continued making them...we only have a handful. Your cover is a VERY easy-to-use template and I hope people actually make a bunch since it's mostly a copy-paste job.

Thanks a lot for your work. If enough of these actually get made, I'll be sure to buy a bundle of slim cases just for this.

These look pretty sweet. Even digital media has a place on my shelf. I will suggest that the Live Arcade Logo be used at the top instead of having the XBOX 360 bit. Would match the spine. I assume you can't just scale the cover pictures to size for quality but then you really don't need to have the orange and gray bars with Arcade on the top of the image since arcade is really already on there. Now we just need a template for PSN covers in slim-blu cases (I'm fully aware these don't exist ;.;)! Great start SOM!

Firstly, these are awesome. Secondly, after you've finalised the template and everything, would it be possible to add PAL elements in to the template, mainly just changing the NTSC box to a PAL box and replacing the ESRB ratings with PEGI ones. Thirdly, I plan on doing this and have a metric crapload of official xbox dvd size cases that had a points card inside (I buy 800 point boxes to get as many as possible), so would it be possible to make a full width spine version where I can stash the code I used to get points for the game. Please don't feel obliged to do this if you don't want to, or rushed if you do. I'd rather wait for something that looks that good rather than a rushed job that has a few visible errors.

Awesome.

You mean something along these lines? I couldnt really tell if you meant to make the bar orange as well, or just put the XBLA at the top. Personally, I dont think the orange and green go well together (dunno who decided on that color scheme over at MS...), but I can always leave the options in the template. It looks kinda empty without the xbla at the bottom though.

Also, converting to PAL should be easy enough once the template is finished. Full size DVD case takes a bit more work, but still not too much.

Yeah that's what I was talking about. The other thing was I was just saying the whole Arcade bit on the top of the pictures was unnecessary. Yeah without the logo on the bottom it would seem a bit bare I guess. Awesome cover, nice job!

You could help the front by putting the ESRB rating and the publisher logo there. That in itself may eliminate the need to have the XBLA logo there, or at least make it smaller.

Alright, I know it's been a while, but now that I'm finished with school for the semester, I finally got a chance to work on this project again. I finished up the template to my liking and put everything on my box.net account. I don't think the covers will be uploaded here since the artwork isn't high enough resolution to meet our standards (and I don't see Microsoft releasing high res versions anytime soon). I made the covers in the format that I will be using for myself, but for any variations I tried out (orange bars, xbla logo at the top), I left the layers in the template for the rest of you to mess with.  :P

XBLA Template

Aegis Wing
Alien Hominid HD
Bionic Commando Rearmed
Bomberman Live
Castle Crashers
Castle Crashers (Alternate with Fan Art)
Dorito's Dash of Destruction
Death Tank
Hexic HD
Heavy Weapon
Marble Blast Ultra
Minesweeper Flags
Peggle
R-Type Dimensions
TMNT 1989 Classic Arcade
Zuma

Enjoy

That template is awesome By the Way.

My contribution. The Banjo Kazooie game. What I have a hard time with is Ms's stupid silverlight, and why the title card isn't a high resolution...but I tried.

I might take a peak at that over the weekend, unless someone else already has...
Haven't purchased anything on the PSN yet, but a few of their latest PSOne classics have me curious now...

Already have a PS3 vertical/horizontal template in place, don't think it'll be too difficult to modify it for PSN (especially since I have the PSN graphics already incorporated into the regular template)
