It's free, but not necessary when you are using Mediafire.
In mediafire when you choose the share option it gives you 3 links, use the second one with [img"]http://LINK[/img] (remove " and insert the mediafire link where it says LINK or just post the link, highlight it and press the insert image button above the smileys, it's the second from left) and it will show preview in your post.
But remember to give us also the first link as that is used for downloading
