I have a question: did these 2 covers get aproved by the site's quality control?

If not, can someone do the adjustments needed?

I would say probably not, as if you look at the back, the "background image" is not solid gold, but instead shows hints of red and other colors (not up to par with others).  Rayman 2's spine looks a little dark and chunky (not the label, just the green background), and Blast Corps 2 looks like the icon is fuzzy, and the spine is faded(ish) IMO

Other than the fact that the scans were originally horrible (fuzzy spine), it looks awesome IMO =D.  Very nice job man!

By scans you mean the original horizontal cover? And thanks for the comment!

And on the second model I slightly changed the back cover background color. I'm still on a doubt of which color looks better. The spine is definetly better on the second one.

Per request: on quick look I'd say:
1 - The front image should be higher quality, it's bit fuzzy/scatchy.
But on the other hand it might be OK. Sometimes I'm bit too picky about images, as I use 47" Full HD TV to check these, and I see details that won't show on print too clearly.  ;)
2 - The image on the background on the backcover should have more contrast, at the moment the image is bit unclear mush, ie too single shade.
I think the best way to descipe what I mean is to imagine a really high contrast high quality black'n white image, something like this but better: http://walyou.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/Mario-jesus-Game-Over-3.jpg or this: http://www.taistoisoisbeau.com/blog/wp-content/2009/08/V61_MARIO-SORRENTI_Sasha-Pivovarova_07.jpg
Now replace the gray scale with golden orange, leaving the black black and the white white.

But I think the back is the most probable reason for rejection.

As to which back is better I'd say that the building on the right side of Blast corps text is better on the second covers, but otherwise the first version is better. The background image's coloring is actually pretty good in the first version, altough the image choice could be simpler and or clearer.

AND ALWAYS REMEMBER TO MAKE BLACK VERSION TOO FOR US EUROPEANS!!!  ;D

Hey Arseen, thanks for the reply!

I'm taking notes from yours suggestions and will try to do a better one. A few comments of mine: the front image is already of a higher quality than the one in the original scan, finding another with even more definition should be quite a challenge, but I'll take it.

About the background on the backcover, you said the coloring looks nice on the first one but it should have more contrast. Would it be more suitable if I change the image? Or should I try adding more contrast to the one I have?

And you didn't mention the spine. Is it ok / aprovable?

About a PAL version, I'm willing to do so. I just want to make sure the american is aproved so no mistakes will be done to our european friends.

Thanks again for the commentaries! And I would like some more from whoever else is reading this  ;D

Hi guys, I made some requests in the request forum the other day but didnt think things would happen quickly enough so I decided to give it a shot myself. Took me a few days to fiddle with photoshop and shenske's template to get used to the program a little and to cut a long story short here is my first effort. Let me know what you guys think and where I can improve for my next covers.

Also a question: when I see other covers I notice logo's on the back of the covers with a yellow background. How do you remove the the background colour from original logo? Like in this case the logo when cropped from the cover has a black background, how would I go about changing it to yellow between the letters etc and adding that shadow effect?

Also where do I get decent fonts to use for the text on the backs of the covers?

The kirby looked great (I am sure it will look awesome when printed), however the black wording on the back kinda gave me a headache.  the shadow is a little too deep.  Also the only thing I would recommend is that the green spine looks a little bland to me, I dont know how to explain it.  Shenske's spines are what I am use to.  Guess I'm just spoiled =D  Nice cover btw!

I fixed the text (I was unsure if it was too heavy or not).

The spine is just what was on the original spine I used (except green).

When will the N64 section be updated? I see ps1 covers were updated just 2 days ago but its been months since new N64 scans/covers were added.
