does anyone have a better scan of the harvest moon 64 game case? i was gonna get to work on a vertical cover for it, but the original version on the site looks a little goofy to me. Along with the perfect dark and paper mario front covers, and the back cover for jet force gemini.

I plan on eventually tackling the 4 AKI wrestling games (WCW/nWo World Tour, WCW/nWo Revenge, WWF Wrestlemania 2000, and WWF No Mercy), but they're pretty far back on my list and I'm at work most of the time, so generally the last thing I want to do when I get home is get to work making covers I'm not going to use.

I actually already have the 4 AKI covers started. I'll see I I can fond some time later tonight to finish them
up. I have some plans that will occuppy a good chunk of my day and want to get some genesis covers fixed up first. World Tour, Revenge, Wrestlemania and No Mercy were my favorite n64 games!

I don't have enough time to start anything right now, but I have been uploading some 800/100/1100 DPI cases to the site, here are some raws to make Knockout Kings 2000 a little easier

Knockout Kings 200 (Back)

Hey just wondering when you guys do the back of the game cover, do you use a simple screenshot or you take the original picture (by back picture I mean the one in yellow

For the minicase I have been working on, I have youtube'd 720p videos for high res screen shots.  You could play the game via emulator and high res screen shot it that way.  However, it is nice to try and find an image that is identical to the original case to retain similarities.

Or... do you mean not the 5 little pictures, but the back screen shot that is in yellow?  For that...  :P, I really have no idea  ::)

I normally do it with a graphic or decent quality screenshot, greyscale it, colour overlay it with the required colour and fiddle with opacity and overlay colour until it looks right compared to the original. Some trial and error is involved, for me anyhow. Shenske may well do it a totally different way.

I can't determine quality from my iPod, but As far as the cover goes all it needs is the "only for" stamp on the back of ute cover. I personally think the green and yellow parts of the cover could be a little brighter, it looks off to me and makes the text on the back a little hard to read.

The back of N64 cases are originally all the scales of orange/yellow.  So you have to either

1) Greyscale it as per Grumbleduke's post, or
2) In Photoshop,
      - Select the layer.
      - Press CTRL + U
      - Find the box marked "Colorize" and check it
      - Match up the colors as closely as possible

On another note

I have 3 manuals (to my knowing ATM) for the N64.  Super Mario 64, Paperboy, and BattleTanx.  These are the colored versions of the manuals and where it states "instruction bookley/manual" is quiet far away from the center of the picture / can be easily avoided.  Seeing how these manuals/booklets are already in a vertical format, would this possibly be an idea to make some vertical cases with alternate pictures?  After scanning my N64 boxes, ill scan the manuals, however I don't know how I should upload them.

As some of you might tell, I am really in the N64 mood all of a sudden... tf... =D, ANYWAYS, here is my idea with the instruction manuals -->

Converting this manual into this case was basically the same as eating skittles; painless (for the most part). Actually, I'm angry when I eat skittles because they are gone too fast! Ramble oops.

The other manuals (thumbnails)

-Stoled Shenske's Mario covers for the illustration.

Those are all the games I have "colored" instructions for.  After seeing the cases above, is there any interest in me uploading them as raws or whatnot?
