I've noticed that Snowboard Kids has the back art of Snowboard Kids 2. Anybody able to fix that? Also would anybody be able to link me to a proper guide on how to make vertical covers? I've been itching to learn in my spare time.

Here is a photoshop tutorial by segamer.  It contains a lot of excellent tips and tutorials on the basics for cover creation.
