I noticed the top cut off this morning actually and went crazy trying to figure out if it was google or me lol but this is the cover from the ps2 game I purchased a while back. I will try to rescan at 300 dpi and see if I can get the full top part but it seems like its really small to begin with like a few millimeters? I think I don't know I'm not good with measurements but its small hopefully I can get it scanned properly is there a guide for dust removal and stuff like that? I have a bunch of games I want to contribute both American and Japanese so I'll take all the pointers I can get.
The best way to go about creating a TCP-ready cover is as follows.
Place the image on the scanning bed, away from the edge.
In the scanning software choose 600 dpi
Try to find a setting called Descreen or Derasterize and select it.
Scan the images.
Open the raw scans in your preferred photo editing software.
Adjust the brightness, contrast, saturation, and other apply other color correction as necessary.
If needed, apply surface blur filters selectively and conservatively to negate the moire effect in the images.
Using various methods such as the clone tool and paint brush, remove the dust, scratches, and rips.
Paste and resize the image to fit into the
template.
Move the image behind the front layers of the template.
Upload the cover to a site like mediafire or box.net and share it in the forums for constructive criticism and advice.
Make adjustments based on any feedback received.
Upload the cover to The Cover Project for review by the Admins.
