Nintendo, together with Hamster, is releasing a bunch of their arcade claasics on Switch! Too bad they are $7.99 each and not in a collection, but 8 bucks ain't too bad! I'm getting each one as it's released!

Donkey Kong
Mario Bros.
Punch-Out!!
Sky Skipper
Vs. Balloon Fight
Vs. Baseball
Vs. Clu Clu Land
Vs. Ice Climber
Vs. Pinball
Vs. Super Mario Bros.
Vs. Tennis
Vs. Urban Champion
Vs. Wrecking Crew

It's about time we get these arcade classics re-released! Way to go!

How come no one cares about this? To me, this beats GameCube games on Switch, an actual Virtual Console, and even the SNES Classic Edition Mini. Nintendo arcade games, baby!

Meh. I'm pretty hard-pressed to get excited about the endless recycling of old games.

Are digital game purchases still tied to the console they're downloaded to, or has Nintendo caught up with everyone else and are finally associating downloads with user accounts? I haven't bothered with a Nintendo console for a few generations now so I'm out of the loop. All I remember is downloading a ton of games for the Wii and then loosing them all when my system died.

Nintendo sure loves making money off their old IP don't they?

I'll give ya that, but it's not like we haven't been playing those games via emulation forever now.

Still the same. Doesn't bother me though, I don't ever need to play my digital games on someone else's system, and I hate "the cloud" anyway. If a system breaks, doesn't Nintendo always transfer your stuff for free? I wouldn't know, as none of my Nintendo systems have ever broken.

Speaking of "the cloud", I actually hate the fact they are doing a Netflix kind of thing for the Switch with classic games. I'd rather have the game offline and keep it "forever". Don't really care for any type of game or movie streaming.

That's disappointing. My Wii fell off a shelf and stopped working, and it wasn't worth sending it in for repair when just buying a new one was so much easier, and I'm not even sure they are still repairing old Wii systems anymore. I may end up getting a Switch when the price goes down and if the library continues to grow.

The whole cloud gaming thing is similar to the PS Now service on the PlayStation 4. It's a neat idea, but completely worthless if you're a collector (which describes pretty much everyone here). I joined for a month to play through the God of War series, and hated the pressure of beating the games before my subscription ran out.

Are these new Arcade Archives games only playable in the cloud or are they a digital download, or even better, on physical media?

Bad news, Nintendo decided to buy back all the Wiius instead of letting the price drop. I could be wrong but I think they are always be at least 200. So I doubt they are going to let switch prices drop.

The Arcade Archives games are single purchase and download. Mario Bros. is out in Japan now. As far as the regular Wii, at this point, I'd just homebrew it to get back everything.

Switch prices WILL drop. Every console gets a price reduction at some point. The WiiU wasn't $200 at launch.

What Nintendo is doing in this instance is keeping their consoles from going on clearance. It's bad for their brand image (or at least that's what they believe).

Arcade DK announced and released today! I don't care about new ganes, this is why I bought my Switch! No joke, I don't even own Mario Odyssey or Zelda. Just ports and retro style games.
