I got a Sony Trinatron 36 inch off Craig's List for free last night. Nice to have something larger than 20 inches for light gun games. The tv has a 1080I mode that forces the screen to 16 : 9 but it looks really sharp for an older tv. Edit:: apologies for the huge sideways pics. Anyone know how to fix that? Edit 2:: attempt to fix pictures. Sorry still learning |

If it's 1080i, it may not work for Lightgun games. The screen can't be digital at all. So if there's HDMI inputs on it, I'm pretty sure you're out of luck. |

If it's one of those wide screen Sony Trinitrons, I can confirm that they will not work with light guns. I used to have one and I loved it for component based systems that used widescreen (like PS2, Xbox, Wii, etc), but I still prefer a regular 4:3 Sony TV for the older consoles and light gun games. If I had the room, I would have kept it and used a 3 TV setup, but unfortunately, I had to give it away and stick with my 2 TV setup. |
