Hi guys, it's been a while without posting here. I've been occupied with some health problems that my dad is having right now. Several weeks ago he was complaining about a pain in the stomach, last week the pain increase and started to throw everything he ate out. After some studies doctors found a cancerous tumor in his intestine (in Spanish is intestino or  colon, don't know if is correct how I wrote it).  Yesterday the doctors gave us the news of what he have, and today he was going to surgery in the afternoon.  They gave him a laxative last night but at this morning he hadn't go to evacuate. So now he is going into an emergency surgery because he has an obstruction intestine cause by the tumor.

Wanted to let you guys know as i feel this community is another family.

Sorry to hear as well.  I'm hoping that everything goes smoothly.
Maybe, just once, someone will call me "sir" without adding, "you're making a scene."

Thanks guys.

All went more or less ok. He is now in ICU (intensive care unit) stable. When the doctors open to remove the tumor they saw that the colon was perforated in two Points, they had to clean everything and reevaluate the situation. They removed the tumor and more or less 2 feet of colon, and reconnected everything back. It took 5 hours of surgery to clean and eliminate every.

Now comes the part of recuperation.

Thanks guys.

Well, after almost a month in the clinic, he's finally at home. He's walking and eating normally now. I thought that the doctors connected the colon again, but no. They left a bag on the side and there's where all the ... goes. That bag will be for more all less 6 month and he will go again to surgery to connect the colon again, that way he will go ... normally again.

We are waiting one week to start the chemotherapy.

Glad it went well - sounds pretty similar to what my dad went through about 10 years ago.  He had the ileostomy bag for about a year I think.
