Initially, everybody was pointing the finger at the local "language cop" if we can call it so, but they got fed up and responded that they had nothing to do with this, they won't react or investigate unless there are complaints (and there were none). The plainly mentionned that it's a manufacturer decision to sell or not in a market (kinda pointing the finger at Nintendo). I don't think we'll even know publicly anything from Nintendo, so we can only speculate. |

Do you have any link? |

So I think I see how this French issue was "fixed". Here are all the online (pdf) manuals: https://www.nintendo.co.jp/clvs/manuals/ The following is only true for the 20 "classic" games, not counting Star Fox 2, which had a brand new online manual created in every language. So you can select a language here, and if you choose Japanese, you get the Super Famicom manuals, with five alternate games from the otherwise worldwide versions. However, if you choose ANY other language, you get Star Fox 2 and the system manuals in that language. However, with the other 20 games, no matter what language you choose (besides Japanese), you get the a pdf of the English USA manual. Unlike the NES/ Famicom classic, there isn't a "Wii Virtual Console-like" electronic manual, only a pdf version if the original printed USA manual. That is, unless you choose French. Then you can either get that same USA manual OR an electronic manual in French. Here are the NES/ Famicom manuals for comparison: https://www.nintendo.co.jp/clv/manuals/ (choose language in top right corner). Pretty much the same on these NES manuals EXCEPT you have the option of an electronic manual in any language except Japanese. |
