Was it ever explained why we could not do this?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I7ujjQA4vGw

I think that the common explanation is that a Phoenix Down only revives a KO'd (or unconscious) character, not ones that are literally dead.

But the video did make me laugh.

Ha, I hadn't seen this yet,, very funny! It got me wondering, was there any mention of the FF7 remake during E3? I haven't heard anything about it in quite a while.

Can someone post the original that's being referenced? I never cared for the Final Fantasies, nor do I play video games much anymore.

So what are you doing here then? Just collecting games now or just enjoying our company?  :D

Here's a link to the cutscene the video was referencing: https://youtu.be/9qnyxd7Vq0Q?t=50s

OK, I guess it's kinda funny now. If I knew the game better, maybe it would make more sense. So he's using a spell to heal her, but it doesn't work because of the sword in her?

Anyway, I love looking at and creating box art. I play SOME games, like the NES Classic and Mario Maker. Never been into RPGs much. I prefer Zelda-style, and motly the 2D ones.

Yeah, in the Final Fantasy games you can use an item called Phoenix Down which resurrects a fallen companion during a battle. As Blumpkin mentioned above, the general consensus is that it only works when a character collapses from "fatigue" and doesn't actually bring back the dead.
