What's up everyone.

I'm sure the anticipation for this awesome game is very high
on here so I thought I'd start working on an alternate cover
for the fans.  I'll be posting a few ideas I had for the frontal
side in a few.  Using all of the official concept art from SF IV.

If someone has any ideas or thoughts please let me know.

[edit]

Ok, check these two ideas I had.
Could use some input plz.

How about a cover that just features the new fighters. A Street Fighter cover without Ryu or Ken would be sweet for a change :)

Oh, alright. I'll keep that in mind.
Right now I'm just trying to see what can be done about Ruy & Ken.
The official art has been kinda scarce... not many poses to choose from.

here are a few of the original SF IV wallpapers. Maybe you can work with that. Btw, if you make a Dan cover for SF IV you'll be in my cool book for all eternity :D

LoL, you serious? A Dan cover?
Alright, you got it. I'll make one just for you.
What images did you have in mind?

I didn't have anything special in mind. I just saw the Dan wallpaper and thought that'd be great as a cover. Maybe C. Viper and Dan together on the cover. The background color seems to fit both. But go wild with these or any image you find. I'm always excited to see custom covers especially for games that I (will) have in my personal collection.

I'll be getting the Xbo360 version though along with one of those Mad Catz fight pads (Mad Catz' last chance to convince me they can build something that is not complete garbage)

One of my friends got one already and he says it is garbage.
Unless you're really good with those $80 arcade sticks, do yourself
a favor and get the better-controlling version on PS3.

I was raised with a joypad in my hand :) The last time I played a fighting game with an arcade stick was on the SNES with the SNES advantage when Street Fighter 2 was released. Didn't turn out so well ;)

The best joypads for a fighting game are/were the Sega Saturn controller (the one the Mad Catz fight pad is modelled after) and the Neo Geo CD joypad. The latter is the best in my oppinion.

The PS 1/2/3 joypads suck for fighting games. They always screw you when you go for diagonal movements. I can only pull of a simple Hadoken maybe 7/10 times and this is about the most basic and simple move you can do in fighting games.

Out of the current generation consoles I only have a 360 and a Wii. I already own a standalone BluRay player and there's nothing exclusive on PS3 besides Resistance (2), Uncharted (2) and Killzone 2 that I find interesting. And that's not going to change with the current price tag. Maybe I'll change my point of view when God Of War 3 hits.

I'm a recent Street Fighter convert since I know more people who play Street Fighter than Soul Calibur.  I'm a bit fan of Sagat's play style, so I wouldn't mind seeing something with Sagat if you made something with him.

By the way, I ordered two Tournament Edition sticks and as always I can be found on the PSN with the ID Conral.  See you guys online in less than a week!

Despite the fact fighter genere is back on the rise a few major
series have gone down.

Soul Calibur isn't what it could've been.  The fighting system
is broken and doesn't hold up to the SCII.  After a month this
game's collecting dust on my shelf.

Tekken 6, and am I major... major tekken-head, looks positively
retarded with those dumb weapons and juggling in the air shit.

Street Fighter seems to have every qualification to take it's rightful
place back as the King of fighting games.

Uh, KOF has no chance... sure the new pixels look sharp as hell and the animation is fluid
but it still doesn't capture the force of impacts the way SFIII did.  In my opinion that game
perfected fighting animation and I agreed with the director of the new one that there
simply wasn't much more Capcom could do with 2D genere but to repeat itself. So the natural
course for the brand new SF would be stylized 3D look that would pay homage to the old-school
as well as invite the new fanbase.

I'll agree, however, SNK is "showing major love" to their hardcore fans with KOF.
But it isn't getting nearly as much hype as SF.  And the new anime look doesn't
suit it well (what's up with baggy pants on everyone?)

Kinda getting off on a wild tangent with these past few posts. Still, I felt it necessary to chime in...

SF4 has me no where near as excited as KOFXII. It's not so much the fact that it's 3D vs Hi-Res 2D, it's the character selection. SF3 had the strongest selection of characters, and SFA was a close second. (Talking Character Design-wise.) So, with SF4, they didn't bring a single SF3 character back, brought only about 5 SFA characters, and brought the entire, completely generic character roster of SF2 back. Anybody who would actually think that Balrog, Dhalsim, Blanka and Fei Long are stronger character designs than Dudley, Elena, Necro and Mokoto is obviously completely blinded by nostalgia.

I'll still be getting SF4; hell, I do really want to play it. But I'll be getting it much further from the time it comes out, probably wait for it to hit the $30-45 range on Amazon. KOFXII, on the other hand, I plan to import as soon as it hits shelves in Japan.

I'm equally excited for SF IV as I am for KOF98 UM hitting XBL. (Wow, that's a hell of a lot of acronyms :D)

In my oppinion KOF always had more style and the more refined fighting system. The only times Capcom was at eye level with SNK was with SF Alpha 3 and SF III 3rd Strike. Yet in SF IV they completely rely on the same few characters with just a few unusual ones thrown into the mix. I'm with the7k, complaining about droppimg all SF3 characters. Drop Zangief and use Hugo, drop Akuma and use Sean, use Elena or Makoto or Ibuki instead of Chun Li. Urien instead of Sagat.

SNK had the balls to drop all established characters except for Terry in Garou and create a whole new roster. I'd really like to see a SF without Ryu and/or Ken. Let Sean or Dan take their place :) They have kind of the same moves but just different enough to feel fresh.

whoaaaaaaaa - hold your horses!  Drop Ken & Ryu?!?!?!?!  OK they are not the best characters, and have been overdone - but it wouldn't be streetfighter without them!
