Request: Dutch cover of Professor Layton and the Curious Village Nintendo DS
(1/2) > >>
Timmerito:
Hello!

I'm searching for the Dutch cover of Professor Layton and the Curious Village for Nintendo DS. If it is possible a high quality would be nice. Looked around on internet, but couldn't find any.

Many thanks!

Correct me if I'm mistaken, but Professor Layton and the Curious Village was never released in the Dutch language. I know there is a fan project currently underway on GBATemp to create a translation for the Netherlands, but nothing official. It'll be pretty difficult to create a Dutch cover; the text will all need to be removed, translated, and replaced; the title and spine artwork will need to be erased and heavily customized; and the region icons will have to be removed and replaced with Dutch info. I'm not even sure there's anyone on the forums here who speaks Dutch, and I don't think there's a PAL version of Professor Layton on the site to use as a basis for the redesign. It's no wonder why you couldn't find one online, this is one of the more challenging requests I've seen. Good luck!

EDIT: I just looked up the GBATemp project and I see you're helping do the translation over there. Perhaps if you can provide a translation of all the text on the official PAL cover, someone will be able to use that to fulfill your request. We'll still have to track down a high quality PAL scan to use as the basis of a custom cover, but the translated text will be a good start at least.

There is a dutch cover already, only the game isn't translated:

The only thing i needed was the Dutch cover in high quality, to replace the logo, that is the only thing that wasn't translated on the cover. So today i scanned it myself, and created this:

For a first try i like it :p Thanks for your help!

I stand corrected! Good job replacing the logo. If you still have the raw scan you made, you should share it here in the forums. The more scans we have the better job we can do to help people looking for covers.

Also, just a heads up, imgur compresses images when you upload them to their site. It's not as bad as somewhere like imageshack, but a better choice would be mediafire. Thanks again for sharing your cover!

I'm pretty sure I have this (bought like 200 DS cases from a guy on craigslist for $20 as they... meh.... ransacked gamestop's garbage a while ago) for NTSC.  If you need a better scan of the US version, please let me know and ill look when home later
