Whether or not anyone likes it or agree's with it, every move Nintendo makes is done to make them more profits.  It might not seem like it at times, but every time someone asks, "what was Nintendo thinking?," I can assure you that is the answer.

I mean, I understand what you're saying, but they're still not the same.

Nintendo, literally, put a Pi inside of a cheap plastic shell. So you're saying that because Nintendo stamped their brand name on a plastic shell, containing an emulator, put 30 roms on it, that it's better than a Pi that can play almost every console and be customized 9 million different ways? Makes perfect sense.

I too agree with Wiggy, it's not the same.  I like the NES Mini.  Sure... I have a RetroPie... but its not the same.

I wasn't talking about a crappy 3D printed NES shell. LOL! I just meant a Pi, in general. There's tons of nice Pi cases that are high quality and look terrific, I wasn't, specifically, talking about a Pi shell that looked like an NES. I guess, if you're buying the Classic and spending $60 bucks because you like the shell. Well, then that's a different story. I guess, if that shell is worth the $60+ dollars to people, more power to you. The actual content you get out of the Classic is certainly not worth $60 bucks, though.

You are missing the point. Is an official Nintendo brand device, as a collector is not the same to have a Pi instead of a Nintendo classic. Is like saying  that you prefer to buy a Chinese made repro of Little Samson for $25 instead of the original one for $400. Sure you'll have the game cheaper, you'll play with it, but from a collector view is not the same even if the game play is the the same or even if the cartridge is an exact copy of the original
