Hello!

Finally back to making covers again after a long absence from the site.

While looking through all the forum activity I missed, I saw TyrannicalFascist's Fusion templates, and they inspired me to finally continue working on some Gamecube covers which I started about 6 years ago but kept putting off because I wasn't satisfied with them.

So, I took his Gamecube fusion template, which was sized for UGC, and resized it for a standard DVD case, then butchered it, removing a lot of things and making it rather minimalist. (I've done similar to his other templates, which I'll probably get around to making covers for later.)

First cover I've done is for Turok Evolution, as I bought it disc-only and it's been screaming at me from the shelf ever since.

A few quick notes: Not all the artwork is from Turok Evolution. I have used artwork from various Turok games. This is a practice I will most likely continue for future covers I do, so if that kind of thing upsets you, now's your chance to turn back.
The screenshots are from Evolution, credit to user Turok64 from turokforums. I just had to brighten them up a bit.
The best quality logo I could find was still not great quality. I couldn't separate the 'Evolution' part to use, so I have just used a fairly similar font to recreate it. Not perfect, but I'm not fussed enough about this game to find a better match.
Initially planned on using red as the main colour, to match the back of the original cover. However I ended up feeling green worked better for a nice contrast to make the logo stand out more.
I also couldn't quite decide on a number of fronts, mostly regarding positioning of the logo, but also some slight variations in the image.

Anyway!

And hopefully that worked.

More to come soon, hopefully. Probably Gamecube. Maybe. *shrug*

Oh, last quick note. I haven't printed this out yet, so not 100% sure how the top spine is going to look. I might end up shrinking it down a bit so the text isn't spanning from edge to edge.

Finished a cover for another game that's been patiently waiting for one - Batman Begins. Once again there are a few variants because I just can't make a decision between various artwork that I like. There's also one with a black template instead of purple because it suited the cover more, so not sure if I'll consider doing that for certain feature games (like Nintendo did on the Wii and Wii U with the New Super Mario/Luigi games] or if I'll just resign that to the scrap heap and keep all games uniform in purple.

All the artwork apart from the Batman on the bottom of the back covers are from the Batman Begins movie. Some official posters, some fan-made posters, and unfortunately I'm unable to credit the artists as they've been sitting on my hard drive for the best part of 10 years and I can't remember where I got them from.

Hopefully when I get to games which I don't have much art for I might be able to start getting through them a bit quicker.

Nice placement of our lovable pink puffball on that back cover. Can't say I'm not jealous.

I don't know if it's the colors or what, but that Super Mario Sunshine really pops. I've been indifferent to the other covers, but I really like that one.

Thanks! Yeah, I think that cover just all came together nicely. I think the bright, vibrant colours is definitely part of it.

Here's another, although not 100% happy with the text on the back.
