If all you have is a Wii U and looking to play this amazing Zelda game, the Wii U version is definitely not a bad option. The game **does not** make use of the gamepad for things like inventory or maps, which kind of sucks, and the resolution is lower, but it's not enough to make it "unplayable."

FPS does drop, but it happens in both versions, especially the Switch in TV mode.

All in all, the Wii U version is perfectly fine. Just expect slightly longer loads times coming from a disc. But nowhere near the length of load time as Mighty Number 9 for Wii U.

I like the hints that are listed during the load times.  I sometimes wished the load times were a little longer so I could read a few more.  I'm about 15 hours in and I'm still getting new hints.

This^. I believe the hint system reveals more hints as you achieve certain things, find certain materials, die a certain way, etc. It keeps the hits interesting and actually useful.

And also, the performance dips are somewhat common on the Switch in TV mode (most likely not in handheld mode). But it's nowhere near detrimental to the game/system. I would much rather some performance dips here and there over simply downgraded graphics. It's nice to see the systems hardware is getting full usage.

Slight rant here, but I feel like the majority of people who are bothered by the performance of the Switch must be mostly PS3/4 and XBox 360/One players -- not that any of those consoles are bad, but if there are any PC gamers here, I think they'll know what I mean.

As of last night, I'm about 45 hours in.  Still loving this game.  I'm getting better at it.  Some of the more difficult fights have become a lot easier.

I haven't bought or played any other game since March 3rd.  I can't remember the last time I enjoyed a game this much.  This game has certainly been worth every penny, and considering that I got the game for 20% off through Amazon just makes it that much better.   :D
