It's good.  Fucking good.

This

I just want to clear up. I agree with this too^. My only complaint so far is the spoken dialog. Another minor complaint would be the lack of traditional dungeons, but holy shit, the divine beasts are fun.

I hate the disposable weapons system. It really irks me.

But the rest is so damned good that I've just made peace with it.

I know what you mean.  It wouldn't bother me if the weapons just lasted a little longer.  I can understand things like tree branches, or rusty swords breaking easiley, but some of the bigger stuff should be stronger.
Maybe, just once, someone will call me "sir" without adding, "you're making a scene."

This. The weapons break far too quickly. Once you start getting into more difficult terrain the common weapon drops are worthless. Which forces you to travel around farming weapons. The ability to repair broken weapons would have improved the experience for me.

That said, the rest of game has been great so far.

I feel like I can let this go, but this is so true. I finally got a couple of really awesome swords (the Lightning Sword and a Royal Broadsword), and they both broke simply trying to use stasis in a divine beast. It's a real shame.

Those system has made opening treasure chests a chore for me.  I cannot be excited to receive something that will simply be used up in a matter of minutes.  Really bums me out.

So when do they offer the $19.99 DLC unbreakable sword?  ::)

Ikr.

Has anyone gotten the master sword yet? I would assume it's unbreakable?

I suppose when I get a Switch I may have to try it out if you all say it's that good. Is there any way to repair your weapons?

That has sort of been my assumption as well.  There must be an unbreakable sword somewhere in the game.

Nope. They literally explode when they break.  Just get used to picking up stalfos' arms, tree branches, and whatever you can find to smack enemies with (seriously).

When your sword or weapon is about to break (there are a few different warning indicators), supposedly you can throw the weapon at an enemy for double damage.  Although, I haven't utilized this yet.

So far, there have been more than enough weapons to pick up.  However, I would rather see the weapons last longer, and be less available in the world (someone else may have already said this, but I agree).

This contains a partial spoiler (it's actually more of a tip).

Here is something I found out just the other day.

***SPOILERS***

Whenever you find a monster which carries a really good weapon, shield, or bow, mark the map with the appropriate pin (sword, shield, or bow). Then, after a blood moon (which respawns all of the killed creatures), re-kill those marked creatures for some easy gear.

***SPOILERS***

If you use this method, you can have a full inventory of high-tier weapons/shields in 30 minutes.

I completed BotW about a week ago, and I wanted to finally get around to posting some final thoughts. At first, I felt that the disposable weapon system was very unbalanced, but I have a different opinion now. I would say that the availability:durability of weapons is actually very good, but I would rather see a lower availability and a much higher durability. It is practically impossible to become attached to a weapon. My feelings about spoken dialog aside, I would say that is the only big issue with this game. At first, I was afraid of this big leap from Zelda tradition, but after fully experiencing the game, I would say that it is in-fact very close to Zelda tradition. Just like OoT took Zelda into the realm of 3D, BotW takes Zelda into the realm of open-world. And it does it very gracefully. BotW is in-fact most like the original LoZ than any other Zelda game. I would say it is easily in the top 5 Zeldas ever. And in my opinion, I would say it is in the top 3. I feel it is easily right up there with ALttP and OoT (or MM if that is your preferred flavor).
