The only real downside is that Master System games don't work through the 32X.

Same goes for some of the Mega Everdrive features and the Sega CD Memory Manager.
Maybe, just once, someone will call me "sir" without adding, "you're making a scene."

I think the biggest problem with the 32x is that it wasn't supported. The Saturn was coming out soon, Sega of Japan really didn't want anything to do with the 32x. But everything I've heard it sounds like it was an American idea to prolong the life of the Genesis, the Genesis didn't do that well in Japan. The Saturn was huge, but the Genesis was only so-so. It was in America and Europe that the Genesis was so popular. So this was just a rushed way to prolong it and make it compete a little longer than it should have. It sucks because it does have a few nicet games and could have been pretty awesome...as its own system. There was no point in making this an add-on
. Especially for the price. Just sell it as its own console.

This exactly. If it had been supported better it might have actually been able to prolong the Genesis' lifespan, but with the Saturn coming out there really wasn't much of a reason to support it. It's a really weird situation that Sega got themselves into.
To be this good it takes AGES!

Both games are complete (no CD in Comix Zone though). The Game Genie box is in decent condition, and the cartridge itself is still in a sealed bag.  The codebook has major wear, but all pages are present and legible.  I already had a GG with a nice codebook, so I'll keep the box and good book and sell the extra cartridge and the poor condition book.  I paid $10 for the GG - that's an old price sticker still stuck to the box.

Some pickups from Gamestop online:

I've been looking for good portable shmups, and I've heard a lot of good things about Iridion II.  Finally got around to buying one - can't wait until I have some time to really get into it.  I've only had time to play it for a few minutes so far and it seems pretty amazing.

Since I do console repair and mod work, as well as reproductions, I felt I needed something just for me.

I really liked how the NES turned out for my other half, so I made one for myself to signify what I love to do. :)

Still have two more OEM NES', but this is the one I grew up with. It's model number is also in the upper 4 million range, which is phenomenal considering my other front loader is about 26 million. Not sure what my top loader is. :)

Gave it a nice Retrobrite bath earlier with an indoor UV light and about 8 hours of rest. Turned out beautifully.

Looks great,

How do you find the long-term effect of retrobrite is?  I've heard a couple instances where the part started yellowing again after only a few months.  I've got a Famicom incoming, that might need the treatment.

Not sure. I've never done it, but I also imagine it depends on where you keep it and if it's in contact with UV light to cause the bromine to react again.

Well, I was in a GameStop on my lunch break. I didn't even plan to get anything. I was just killing some time, and I used it as one last long shot at finding a Wii U kiosk. While I was there, an older couple came in asking if they had any of the NES Minis. I was on the other side of the store just rolling my eyes thinking, get with it people, you can't find them right now. The store employee nicely said that he didn't expect any more for a while. Then he opened a brown box sitting on the counter (he was in the middle of putting stock back up) and he said, oh wait!!! I have several in this box. I think everyone in the store, myself included, was pretty surprised. So the couple and I both walked out with one, leaving the store with one left. They were so new, the employee literally had to enter them into inventory before he could sell them to us.

Honestly, I was in no rush to get one. I have very little use for it because I prefer the original hardware. However, I told myself that I would buy one for my collection as long as I could get it for retail price and not wait in line to get it.

Edit for pic

I ordered one off gamesotp site this morning, they are getting restocked pretty regularly now.  I signed up to the site nowinstock.com, and they email you when a site has them available. https://www.nowinstock.net/videogaming/consoles/nesclassicmini/

Quick question, Don't want to open a thread just for this. I'm about to buy several N64 controllers, there are a lot of them the Japanese version.

Is there any difference between the North America and the Japanese version?

Does the Japanese version works on a ntsc us console?
