Ya that's a pretty awesome find.

Couple pickups last week.
I got a free PS3 "fat" a Facebook buy and sell.  Had the yellow light of death, so had to reflow the GPU but got it going.

Went to the pawn shop, found the following.
Prices in Canadian,
Double Dash (Complete) $28 (30% off)
Little Big PLanet (Complete) $8 (30% off)
The Show '10 $2.50 (50% off - clearance bin)
Gran Turismo 5 XL  $0.50 (50% off - clearance bin)
Overall, decent haul, especially with Double Dash under $30

Never had a PS3 before, only a 360, but what's that they say?  Never too late?

I think there are 2 or 3 games for it that I would even consider playing to be honest, and one of them is way to expensive, considering that it's a console that I don't really collect for (I was given one a few years back, so I have it for that reason).  That, and it's a sloppy mess requiring a second goofy AV cable AND AC adapter.

The people who really hate it lived through its launch, purchased one, and then witnessesed its shortly followed demise. It was expensive, ill-conceived, and just barely supported by anyone.  I'd hate it too if I had purchased it at launch.

Very cool pickup. The 32x doesn't seem like it deserves all the negativity people give it. Actually, some of the 32x games I own are some of my favorite Genesis games. Virtua Racing Deluxe is a big improvement over the regular one, and Fred Couples Golf is my favorite 2D golf game.

It definitely has a mess of cords, (mine's also finicky since I'm missing the spacer) but I think it's still got some great games.

Most of the games I've picked up for it weren't very expensive (a dollar or two, maybe?), except for Knuckles Chaotix, since stores have a hard time getting rid of them, so it's definitely worth a look around your local shops to see if you can find some.

I bought a 32X at launch, and I've always liked it.  Virtua Racing Deluxe is a great port, and add more cars and tracks.  Star wars is OK, but gets repetitive and really difficult.  NBA Jam TE, After Burner and Space Harrier are as close to arcade perfect as you'll ever see on a cartridge.

I agree it's a bit of work to connect, but once it's connected you can play both 32X and Genesis cartridges through it, so there's no need to ever disconnect it (unless you want to play Master System games or the Genesis port of Virtua Racing).

An added bonus is that the 32X uses the best video encoder Sega used.  Many model 2 Genesis systems used poor quality video chips, but with a 32X attached it will output the best possible picture for both 32X and Genesis games.  It won't enhance the games in any way, but the colors will be brighter and there will be no rainbow banding that is common on some systems.
