| Advice for collecting game manuals |

I recently decided to start focusing on collecting the instruction manuals - and sometimes the other gameplay-related inserts that came with games - that I missing to make my collection a bit more complete. I have a few local game stores that keep a small selection of manuals available to purchase. I've picked up a few manuals from them, but two of the three stores are about an hour away, and the manual selection just doesn't change frequently. So, most of my manual purchases have been made online, on Ebay. What I have found is that the vast majority of listings are (not surprisingly) not for manuals alone. It's actually been fairly difficult to find manuals for some games at all. The other inserts, like maps, are even harder to find. Does anyone have advice for how to find manuals and inserts? Are conventions a better place to look, or is there a community online that specializes in this sort of thing? |

I've not really used Instagram, but I'll definitely look into that. --- End quote --- I agree with Wiggy, but I will add, from my experience, that local Facebook groups can be great, but the national ones seem to be a shit show. I can really only recommend the ones I use that are local to the St. Louis area. My advice would be to search for local Facebook retro collector groups in your area. |
