Stopped at Retro Games Plus tonight. The Gameboy is very clean and in great condition so I grabbed it for $25. Got Urban Strike for $4 - it's quite an uncommon game and is worth $60+. The employees say that I'm the only customer that buys Game Gear stuff there, and this was there for several days before I bought it tonight. |

I've been wanting to grab one off Ebay for a while, but the bad capacitor issue has made me hesitant. Anyone who has a unit which has been re-capped is always asking some insane amount of money for it. But, I don't want to buy one that isn't re-capped because then I'll just have to pay someone to do it anyway, as it's not a task I feel comfortable undertaking. --- End quote --- Just to clarify the standard TurboGrafx 16 units don't have capacitor issues. --- End quote --- Is that so? I hadn't heard that. What's the difference between the units? I know next to nothing about TurboGrafx. |

It's the Turbo Duo console that has capacitor issues. The Duo is a combination CD/HuCard unit. |

That would include PC Engine, CoreGrafx, CoreGrafx II, TurboGrafx-16 and SuperGrafx. It's just the Duo and Super CD ROM systems. And even then, only the earlier ones. The Duo R is much more reliable. |
