Got this guy from my local Value Village.

Unfortunately no power cord, but still pretty happy.

That's awesome!

What a steal on that Turbo! I've been wanting to grab one off Ebay for a while, but the bad capacitor issue has made me hesitant. Anyone who has a unit which has been re-capped is always asking some insane amount of money for it. But, I don't want to buy one that isn't re-capped because then I'll just have to pay someone to do it anyway, as it's not a task I feel comfortable undertaking.

That is a great deal on the Turbo.  For those of you who aren't as lucky, look for a Japanese unit (or just import one).  They are a lot cheaper, and more common.  100% of my NEC collection is Japanese.  I just use an TED to play US games (region mod isn't too complicated either).
Maybe, just once, someone will call me "sir" without adding, "you're making a scene."

My 18 years old niece is no longer using her DS Lite, so she gave it to me (telling me that she will love to see me having it and not my twin nephew, she knows that i will keep it in excellent condition as she did).  and that take me to my second DS, Broken DS Lite from one of my 8 years old twin nephew  :P ::), Won't power on. i'm waiting for the screwdiver to come in mail to open it as i hear something giggling inside.

Ds games from my Niece

and finally, they are arriving. Audio, Composite and component jack to make my Switch box, still missing others that are arraving soon

So it sucks that some thrift stores have caught on that certain games are worth way more than others - that said, it's nice to still find some good deals!

Paper Mario and Phelios are both complete and in great shape!
Mario was $35, Phelios $13 and Golden Axe II was $5.  Add a 10% discount on top of all that and it was a nice find in the middle of a pretty big dry spell for me.

Just to clarify the standard TurboGrafx 16 units don't have capacitor issues.

Stopped at Retro Games Plus tonight.  The Gameboy is very clean and in great condition so I grabbed it for $25.  Got Urban Strike for $4 - it's quite an uncommon game and is worth $60+.  The employees say that I'm the only customer that buys Game Gear stuff there, and this was there for several days before I bought it tonight.

Is that so? I hadn't heard that. What's the difference between the units? I know next to nothing about TurboGrafx.

That's because re-capping is a LOT of work and is quite tedious :-\

It's the Turbo Duo console that has capacitor issues.  The Duo is a combination CD/HuCard unit.

I'm not aware of any Hu Card only systems that have cap issues.  That would include PC Engine, CoreGrafx, CoreGrafx II, TurboGrafx-16 and SuperGrafx.

It's just the Duo and Super CD ROM systems.  And even then, only the earlier ones.  The Duo R is much more reliable.
