Hello everyone, and hello Arseen (I know you're reading this). I own 0 Amiibos (in fact I don't even own a Wii U yet sadly). I plan on getting a Wii U fairly soon (my first intended play-through is TP HD). My question is...what are the REAL benefits of Amiibos? I am not talking about the fact that they may look great in a display case or the fact that (it is my understanding that..) you can save your game to them? I mean what are the real advantages? Does anything make them a must-have Wii U component? For example, if I asked the same question about the e-Reader for GBA, one would probably say "It allows you to play extra SMB3 levels". Thanks, and I apologize for being an Amiibo noob. |

You can't save your game on to the Amiibo. Some real usages of the Amiibos are: 1: On Hyrule Warriors you can only get one weapon (the Spinner) by scanning one of the Link Amiibos (or at least 1 of the 2 early ones, not sure do the new lines of Links work). 2: In Twilight Princess HD if you scan the Wolf Amiibo you get in to spesial endurance dungeon (bit like Cave of Ordeals but you play as Wolf Link). Well that's it. Besides that you can save some stats in Smash bros on to them, and you can carry some data over from Twilight Princes HD on to the Breath of the Wild with Wolf Amiibo, You get special skins on Yoshi's Wooly World, You can scan up to 5 Amiibos per day on Hyrule Warriors to get random gifts of weapons, materials and money, Zelda themed Amiibos give some advances on Twilight Princess HD (exept Ganondorf that makes game twice as hard)... Not sure what the new Zelda themed Amiibos do. |

When you scan the Wolf Link amiibo into Breath of the Wild, you get a Wolf companion that travels with you (Think Fallout dog) and however many hearts you earned in TP is what his health will be in Breath of the Wild. Not sure if you can level him up in Breath of the Wild or not. |

Also the Mario Anniversary amiibo is the only way you can place giant mushrooms (that make mario giant and pixelated) in SMM |

Thanks for the solid responses guys. It looks like (as a huge Zelda fan), I'll have to get some of the Zelda Amiibos (especially wolf link), but it doesn't sound like I have to have a shelf full to get the most out of the Wii U once I get it. |
