Man, with all these well-wishes, the pressure is on. Now, not only do you have to recover, but you have to do it quickly! Otherwise, you'll let everyone down.

I was thinking the same and was thinking wether to include time aspect in the wish or not, for not to sound like get off your lazy ass quickly.

In Finnish I would have just wished "paranemisiin" which means something like "see you when you get better" but not quite.

English is just missing the tiny nuanses.

I'm back after being stuck in bed for the past few weeks. I’m sure some of you are wondering what happen. I was pulling out of McDonalds after buying my daughter a happy meal. In the process, something went down my wind pipe and I started choking (I don’t know what it was). I blacked out and hit a tree. My daughter, who is six years old, was with me during the accident. Ultimately, I’m just thankful my daughter is ok. I did fracture my rib cage but I feel ok. I'm going to try and get some covers up this week.

That's crazy.  Glad you are ok (or doing better anyway).

It's hard seeing a loved one in the hospital.  Just went through that and it sucks.
Maybe, just once, someone will call me "sir" without adding, "you're making a scene."

Great! :D I'm so happy you're feeling better, Segamer! I hope you had a nice Thanksgiving with your family while you were recovering. You got better faster than when I fell off my bicycle on Saturday July 11, 2015. It took me almost two months to recover. I'm thankful that I'm still alive and cycling again. When I couldn't ride my bicycle, I missed it a lot. I have my two upper front teeth again, but, my bottom tooth is still missing. I'm planning to get an implant sometime in 2017. I can't wait to have a full set of teeth again. Anyway, it's so great to have you back! Take care!

Damn, when I was reading about your bicycle accident I thought  "why two month?" and kept reading, now I understand that it wasn't a simple fall of from the bicycle :o :o

Yeah, I have a few friends who had bad bike accidents as well, and they also spend time in the hospital and were missing teeth.  I do a decent amount of bike riding as well, but I didn't start wearing a helmet until this year.  I'm just glad I didn't have to learn the hard way.,

Ouch man. I don't know how I'm just now seeing this, but I hope things are going better at this point.

Hi, guys! I'm doing just fine right now. Thank you all for the kind words. I fell off my bicycle by locking out my front brake. I was going very fast downhill while pedaling. I grabbed the brakes hard when I approached the bottom of a hill where I needed to make a right turn. I skidded and all of a sudden, my bicycle went up and I flew forward off of it. No cars were involved. I knocked out three teeth, chipped a bone in the top of my left arm, broke my jaw in two places, and got a deep cut right above my upper lip. I don't know how I cut myself, but I couldn't get myself to stop bleeding. If I wasn't wearing my helmet, I probably would have scraped my forehead too. Always wear a helmet when you ride a bicycle, TDIRunner! A properly fitted helmet can prevent a brain injury by 80%. I'm so thankful you didn't have to learn the hard way. I was in the hospital for five days and my jaw was wired shut for five weeks. They also had to put a titanium plate in the bottom of my chin. I also had to have 12 stitches. I learned a hard lesson. Now I let the bicycle coast and grab the brakes very lightly when going downhill. That way, I won't fly forward off my bicycle again. Once I got my bicycle down to REI in August for a tuneup last year, they found out that my rear brake was completely shot. I didn't have good braking power that day when I fell.
