Controller or Accessory Casing/Storage Ideas?

Before I dive in here, I'd like to just give a big thanks to everyone involved with this site. The hosts, admins, and contributors, and everyone between.
So, as you might gather just from reading the topic, I'm looking for ideas for storing my seldom-used accessories and controllers. Honestly, some of these things are getting up in the years and haven't had the kind of loving attention to preservation that the games and consoles themselves have had. While a good number of small accessories have the benefit of fitting in UGCs (or sometimes stacked UGCs), larger accessories are a much more problematic matter. I'm talking of course about our Joysticks, Zappers, Super Scopes, Multiplayer Adapters, Running/Dance Mats, Instrument-inspired Controllers, and all that's in-between.
That established, I'm looking for creative solutions beyond the simple Cardboard Box & Packing Peanuts/Foam Inserts approach. Aside from the general difficulty in locating appropriately sized boxes, cardboard is a poor material choice - that's why we use usually prefer plastic cases and nylon/fabric travel bags for reusable storage, after all!
For my own specific scenario I have...
* a trio of Guitar Hero controllers (PS2/PS3) with shoulder straps hanging on a coat hanger next to my console shelving.
* a SNES Super Scope and most of its accessories with the original Styrofoam it came in. This has served well enough, as it fits just barely beneath the furniture next to my consoles and so is still accessible, if a bit of an eyesore.
* a pair of NES Zappers in Grey and Orange; one of which I keep with my NES games on the shelf using a plastic gun display tray, the other I keep in fabric storage cubes along with my NES Advantage and zip-lock bagged controllers, zip-lock bagged controller extension cables, Rumble Paks, UGC'd NES RF Modulator, UGC'd Memory Cards, and UGC'd system and controller manuals. In general, the storage cubes have served reliably enough. I've been using one for each console I own, so they're easy to keep organized. Zip-lock bagging controllers has helped to prevent damage and tangling to their cables, and has proven more reusable than rubber bands (which tend to harden and crumble over time).
wiggy:
• guitar cases or large plastic tubs (they come in roughly that size)
• rifle case or large plastic tubs
• gun case or plastic container specific to them
