This is a quick mockup of what I  hope Nintendo does to support their virtual console library. Limited edition Joy-Con controllers with original button layouts  ;D

[Gamecube Joy Con]
[N64 Joy Con]
They could do this with virtually any console they want and I would buy them all

I don't see that happening simply because the idea is the Joy Cons also serve as mini controllers, one for each player.
However, they're also making a Switch Pro Controller, so maybe they'll make a GCN version for Smash.

Actually, what I want is a Switch Pro Controller that puts the right stick back up top, where it belongs.

I honestly prefer it lower, like an Xbox controller.

I'm with Wiggy.  I also prefer a lower version.  Even if they went the dual shock route and put both thumbsticks down, I never really liked the 4 main buttons BELOW the right stick

I hate having both sticks down. I'd rather the Xbox format than the Dual Shock, but there's something about both sticks up that I really like. I probably won't get my way though. They're probably gonna try and distance themselves from the Wii U with this. I understand why, since it was a commercial failure, but I actually like the Wii U.

I'm also on the lower stick wagon. It felt really unnatural playing WiiU games with the right right stick so high. I never really got used to that even after 4 years of having the system. It was a good call from Nintendo to recognize that and make that adjustment.

I know that was the original intention to have the controllers work for multiplayer. The stock ones make sense in that scenario but I don't think it would be out of the realm of possibility for Nintendo to release a limited edition version that bucks the trend of having "full functionality." Nintendo did make that classic controller in the shape of a SFC controller and that was missing 2 shoulder buttons and a home button.

^^^ you didn't see what amounts to a "pro controller" in the video?  They already have something like that ready it would seem, just like the Wii & Wuu before it :)

Nah.  The "360" controller layout id the absolute best.  Not many people like them st the same level.  I must say that you are in the minority here.

Not sure if it has been discussed but I realy don't think the screen will be a touch one, considering how games have to work in both handheld and TV.

As I say this though, imagine a game that forces both modes for something. Putting it on the TV does one thing and then you have to pick it up and do another thing.
Probably will never happen though.

Until Nintendo's announcement on January 12th it's still just a rumor that it will have a multi-touch screen but it is very likely that it will be touch screen with multiple sources confirming it.

So, if the portable screen is a touch screen, does that mean there's a way to have both it and the TV on at the same time? Because so far, every time the screen gets pulled out of the console, the TV turns off. And if not, will there be games that require off TV play? Because that will be a major turn off for people.
