***EDIT***

Wiggy beat me to it.  Lots of posts came in at once.
Maybe, just once, someone will call me "sir" without adding, "you're making a scene."

Pretty close to what I was expecting.  I like what looks to be several different ways to control the games, including what looks to be more or less a standard pro controller.  Overall I'm happy, although I'm not seeing any backwards compatibility (I wasn't expecting it at this point), and I'm thinking that there will not be a way to play DS or 3DS games with it (I still had hopes for that).

Not sure if I like the name or not, but it's a thousand times better than NX.

Yeah, that part is pretty vague. They show a 3DS style card slot, but it does not imply anything. Maybe it will be the official format for "Switch" games (cards) but still not 3DS compatible.

Right.  It's not 100% ruled out, but I'm no longer expecting anything on that front.

like the idea, and it seems that you can connect several device to play with more people. i like it, i'm not worry about the backward compatibility. i like to play every game in it's original device.

Yeah, that turned me off big time. I never like the Wii mote, it's not ergonimic, not sure I'll like these. Hopefully, you can use the pro controller on all games.

I was thinking exactly the same... for months! I'm going to buy it for both systems, whatever is the outcome. But for other non 5 star+ games, probably I'll go with latest system only.

That's really nothing new.  Even back when the SNES came out, there were several games on both the SNES and NES.

I think it looks exactly the way people have been describing it for the past year. What took them so long to announce it? It's basically a tablet with a docking bay connected to the TV. I'm a little disappointed as it's nothing new or revolutionary. Nintendo's been so secretive about it, I expected a game changer.

Causiously optimistic...

No idiotic gimmicks that can't be bypassed shown... Least not yet.
Seems reasonably powerful.
