You get 7 days for free (which is what I'm still on).  It's nice having the trial period to make sure you internet connection can handle it, but if you've already been streaming video through the other services you mentioned, I'm sure you will be fine.

ya, 8 bucks a month is pretty hard to beat for netflix, even though what you want to watch "now" is regretfully not on...

I love Netflix, but at the moment I'm not signed up because I've been using Amazon Prime Video.  Although, it's worth mentioning that video streaming services like Netflix, Hulu and Amazon are not really competitors to PlayStation Vue and Sling since those are live TV.  I have a feeling that if the live TV streaming services become popular, they will eventually start offering their own movie streaming options included in the package.

you're right, they aren't true competitors.
it's nice that it's got DVR abilities, makes it a bit more on demand  :D

If you do the trial period, make sure you understand which of your shows have the "DVR" option and which have "On Demand" option since they are technically different.
