My crossroad in gaming

Well as I had say in my back from the dead post I gave up on next gen gaming and sticking with PC gaming. Now I am in a new crossroad in my life. I have been gaming on home consoles my hole life. It started with NES Legend of Zelda back in 89 the adults in the house could not find the red and I found it out of the blue. So growing up in the 90's I played across Nintendo and Sega both home and handhelds. In the early 2000's I got into PC gaming with The Sims and a few other games. Xmas 2000 I got the PSOne and I loved the hell out of the RPG's and still have them along with the systems and memory cards. Xmas 2001 I got the PS2 and the same story there I have all my games and memory cards. Then 03 and on I got the Xbox, Game Cube, PS3, 360, Wii. Loved the hell out of these systems I still have them as well as my games. At the time I never could see myself at the place of selling my game. 3 years ago I got myself the Wii U I was one of the few people who liked the system. 2 years ago I got the PS4 with Destiny. I never really saw myself getting the Xbox One as there was 2 games I wanted to play Sunset Overdrive and maybe Halo 5. Now I sold my PS4 with only 1 game Knack I never played it or opened it so no big lost for me. I still have all my PS4 games and my 25th anniversary controller that i use on my PC. Around last year I decided to mod/hack my PS2, Xbox, Wii, PS3 ,and 360 as i dont go online with them and wanted to save the lasers in the systems and have my games ready to go whenever. So I don't know what to do with my old school gaming life. I know I could backup a lot of my games and play them on PC or just store them away for memory reasons or sell them to people who would love them as much as I do. I am not looking for a pity post I just want to vent/get advice for my gaming life.

I think I'm at this same crossroad aswell.

Current gen games that interest me are far apart.
I have Playstation 4 but only played Lego games on it.

No interest XBone.

I also have WiiU: Hurule Warriors, Super Mario Maker, NSMBU (+ Luigi version), Lego City undercover and Remakes of Wind Waker and Twiight Princess were nice, but that's pretty much it.
Super Mario Wold 3D was also good but not 3D.

Waiting info on NX and it's Zelda and Mario.
But it might be that it will be first Nintendo console that I won't buy.
Same goes for next gen Xbox and Playstation.

Retro games are becomming so expensive and new hacks can't always be put on cart that I seriously thinking of just building dedicated mini PC that can run emulators up to SNES era (or N64) and just storing all my carts somewhere due to shelfspace running out... or even selling them...

This generation is definitely the longest I have ever gone without buying a console, and even now I'm still waiting.  While I'm not happy overall with the general direction I see gaming going in the future, it doesn't really bother me, because there is so much good stuff from the old days (a lot of which is already in my collection) that I have more than enough to keep my busy for the rest of my life. 

New video games could cease to exist today, and there would still more more than enough out there to keep us all busy forever. 

If you don't like the current gen, use it as an excuse to start knocking out your backlog.

This current gen can fucking blow me. My Xbox one is the most problematic piece of shit console I've ever owned, and it's been used for all of 15-20 hours max. I've played my PS4 once.

I love my WiiU though.

yeah i can't see myself getting rid of the Wii U. Just if nintendo would have named it different or made it more then 8/32gb they might have sold more

I agree for the most part. Current gen does sort of blow balls. There is only a handful of games that I've bought that I really like. But I will say this...
While you all seem to love your Wii U's, I hate it. It's been the biggest waste of money I've ever spent. I lost my love for Mario and Zelda games after the SNES. The only reason I still "like" Nintendo is for their handhelds. Pokemon, Fantasy Life, and Animal Crossing being my favorite games on the new system.
My Xbox one on the other hand is a love/hate relationship. It is on almost all times that I am home, either to watch movies or play games. I like how smooth it plays and the hardware itself hardly ever gives me problems. The interface though I don't like. It is not as user friendly as they want to believe it is.
This gen of gaming is it for me when it comes to home consoles though. That is for sure.
