I decided to clear this. I figure all of the wasted energy used on replying to this could have cured cancer instead of help create it.

But, if that is not the case (if there are no reasons), I believe these issues should be addressed immediately! Thank you for reading.

So I'm not going to go in to the idea that you are nit picking someone else's work, which was brought to you free of charge...but this last sentence bugged me a little.
Why should these things be addressed?  I can understand pointing out mistakes, but one man redid the entire NES library, and you want changes be made 'immediately.'  I don't think you're intention is to make demands, but your post kind of comes off as entitled.
If these imperfections are indeed mistakes, it sucks, but they'll likely get fixed over time.  If you're in a huge rush, you can always learn photoshop and modify these yourself.

Wow.  Way to introduce yourself.

Why not fix them yourself, and submit them for the community?

And you think these covers are going to be downloaded and printed millions of times?  That's very flattering to our cause.....but really?

I agree.
People do these covers in their time-off, as a hobby, for FREE! Take it or leave it.  :)

Also I don't understand your argument that covers have to be puristic because of OCD.
Original boxes ARE very random in design. You even realized that yourself when you praised the uniform look of the spines.

So even if the covers were true to the original, you would still have various types of the same logo, shitty screenshots, typos, random / misplaced logo's, etc.

When I found a cover that doesn't completely fits to my art concept, I try to modify and upload it again to The Cover Project for other users to download it. I think this is a great way of maintaining a community. I encourage you to do the same.

Templates can be found here   http://www.thecoverproject.net/forums/index.php?topic=1610.0

if you are unhappy with anybody's work or style choices  you can always fix/alter them to your liking alot of us do it

some of the older covers where uploaded before   the standards became higher they are simply waiting for someone who  has the time and the raws to make a better version.

No one is an employee here  what any of us do is in our free time and because we enjoy doing it .

First, I would like to say that I have been on The Cover Project a lot, but have never had a reason to post.

Also, this line really irks me.  Never had a reason to post, like to say thanks for all the covers you got for free from people doing this in their spare time.  Instead your ONLY reason to post has been to make a complaint about the hundreds of covers you got for free?  Seriously.......... ::)

In response to this specifically. I have only used this site for reference and information. until about a week ago, I had never used a single cover from TCP (never had a need). So although I completely understand your point, I haven't actually had a valid reason to post.

In no way is any cover perfect. Even with a perfect scan, they have to be adjusted to fit different Box/Case types. Arguments have broken out on the forums over changes and adjustments made to covers and such because everyone has their own opinions. The great thing is that we're a site of assets. Almost every cover I print, I make adjustments to, to fit my own tastes. If there's an OCD side of you, change the covers to fit your tastes; like everyone else. If you don't know how, learn; like everyone else. Our forums and youtube and google have plenty of information on editing software.

I appreciate the response. You are right -- no cover is perfect. Like I said, I do know how, but I don't have the time. Nevertheless, I'd say this is settled.
