Two recent pickups from Gamestop online.

Both cartridges are very clean, and the labels are very sharp with no peeling or sticker residue.  Made cases for both from here, and I already had a Comix Zone manual to go with it.

So work was tossing this Extron IN1508 scaling switch. I've heard good things about the bigger (Matrox) models but don't know much about this one.  I almost passed on it but took a better look at it and realized it will do component over VGA. Anybody messed with these?  I ordered a VGA to component cable to see if I can get it hooked up to my TV.

It has been a good month overall. That Super Mario Bros. is actually a Canadian version.

Made a few finds.   My deal is my collecting is self-sustaining.   I buy and flip games to buy more games.

My camera isn't working, otherwise I'd post pics, but:

Found Super Smash Bros for N64 at a pawn shop for $50 CAD (36 US), flipped it for 100

Bought Hologram version of Majora's Mask on ebay for $30 CAD

And grabbed an expansion Pak and Controller at a yard sale for $5

Was a good week.

Great finds. I am assuming the Super Smash Bros was CIB?

Had a bunch of PS4 pickups yesterday.

Where did you get the Geometry Wars 3? Didn't even know that was available in hard copy!

I picked it up from GameStop.  I think I've heard Toys R Us has it and select Targets.  Bit of a stealth release on PS4 and Xbone.

I think most GameStops only got 1 copy for each platform.

Picked up this lot yesterday, $170 Canadian.

Pretty excited as I didn't own a Saturn yet, and seemed like a fair price.

In hindsight, Black console + bad lighting + dark couch = terrible picture

Despite not knowing exactly where many of those games fall in terms of current value, but being VERY aware of their seemingly limitless price ceiling, it's really hard to imagine that you DIDN'T get a good deal.

Ever played with the Saturn before, or will this mark your first experience?  If it's the latter, I'm curious what you'll think of it (Mr. bones is an especially unique and quirky title. Might be fun to start there :) )

This will be my first time playing any Saturn game.

I might have to hold out for a bit though, It only came with an RF adapter, so I would like to get a composite cable at least.

Good deal for the console and games.  Gunstar Heroes for Genesis is worth around $75 on it's own (if it's complete).  Astal is around a $60 game, Clockwork Knight 2 is around $40, and the rest are in the $15-$30 range complete.  Saturn consoles generally sell for $60, so you did very good (plus you got two controllers).  Definitely get a composite cable (or s-video if you have an older TV that supports it).

Also, you'll need a CR-2032 battery to save games to the system.  There's a small battery door on the back of the system.  After that, I'd recommend splurging $40 on an Action Replay.  It will add extra save storage (the internal Saturn memory is very small), allow you to play import games, and work as a 4mb RAM expansion for games that require it (like some Capcom fighters).

Not gaming related, but I still wanted to share.
