It will be released for Android later on. Maybe they have some special deal with Apple to release it first on App Store.

I'm pretty sure we'll be seeing a lot more Nintendo and apple alliances...

That's cool; I like how they went with the "New Super Mario Bros. Wii" design for it.

Oh look, another mobile game I may download and play for 2 minutes before promptly forgetting it ever existed. Oh well, at least someone out there will enjoy it.

Don't forget, it'll likely be riddled with microtransactions as is every mobile game. Companies can do whatever they want and I get that they always want to branch out, but Nintendo loses me more and more every year.

They initially mentionned that it would be a fixed price and no in-app purchase... from latest news they flipped to the "free" model and in-app purchases  >:(

I honestly hadn't heard anything about it, one way or the other, I was just guessing, but it's not surprising to hear. Honestly, I just don't get how so many millions of people fall for the mobile game craze. Why anyone would want to get a game on their phone and constantly be spending a dollar here and a dollar there, just to keep progressing is beyond me. Not to mention, I just can't fathom how this works in a Mario game. Do I have to pay a dollar to go to the next world? Do I need to pay 25 cents to make mushrooms and fire flowers appear on levels? Like, wtf...

We'll see in a few months! I personally don't mind the shareware type (one free world/4 stages) and having to pay x$ for full game. But I won't like 1$/stage with 99 stages. that would be ridiculous.

I really can't stand nor do I understand the mobile phone game craze. Do I have games on my phone? Yes. But it's mainly free shit like solitaire types of games to help pass time in between work or traveling when I can't bring an actual gaming device.
Whatever floats your boat I guess but Nintendo trying to get into phone apps (to me) is a joke. I would much prefer them to make a retro themed phone that accepts 3DS carts or some shit like that. I would drop apple in a heartbeat then.
What are you looking at? You think baby's don't like video games? THEN YOU DON'T KNOW SHIT ABOUT BABIES!!

The microtransactions would most likely be for extra lives. You start out each day with X amount of lives, and you could wait around for more or pay X for instant extra lives.

There are some really, REALLY cool iOS/droid games, but for the most part, I agree. Just a bunch of crap that's entertaining for about 3 minutes, and this Mario game is just another "run" game, of which there are dozens upon dozens. Leave it to Nintendo to be late to the party

The only mobile phone games i have are all ones I payed for.  You Must Build a Boat, 10000000, and Desert Golf, Lara Croft GO, Hitman GO, and Deus Ex GO.  Other than that nope.  Pokemon Go? lol not even a game, Miitomo?  beyond trash.

IMO these are the only phone games you will ever need.  Plus not microtransactions since they all cost money.

Oh so no micro transactions will be in this according to Nintendo.  It will be a free to start and a one time fee to buy.
