Hi, want to ask this becauses when shadowfox started making his cases i was all for the clear one, because i could add inlays on them, but now i don't really know if i will like to have the clear one (even though he send me for test a clear one).

so i will like you guys to vote on which one do you prefer and tell me why? (not the backstreet boys song lol)

Both look equally good... but my vote is black.

+1 for Black. It would look more official in my book and requires less ink.

Black. They blend nicely with DS and most DVD cases

I prefer the clear ones, for two reasons. First, so many cases for all kinds of media are either black or dark gray; it gets old after a while. Second, I liked the cases Nintendo actually made back in the mid-90s I think, even though you couldn't put artwork in them. Shadowfox's work also reminds me a bit, of the clear VHS cases I used to see in Blockbuster for rentals.

I'd be fine with black for Genesis games, but I like the clear look for Nintendo cases. I have nothing invested in Shadowfox game cases though.

I went with "black" - although they're technically not black, they're dark gray.  The same dark gray as the Nintendo DS cases, which I kind of associate with "Nintendo Gray"
This way all my Nintendo products have the same "authentic" feel.

I went with clear, simply because 90% of my cartridge games are in clear cases, only my Megadrive games are in black cases, so they'd fit with everything else...

I gain interest into shelving games while watching that video (or the first part) about three years ago : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a40Wts21Ucs
Since I invested into UGCs, which are clear, my brain makes me think that clear is the way to go.

But if I think again, lots of official cases are of different colors (green, red, clear, black, blue, white). Lately, there seems to be a trend to semi-clear. I think I would like something like the N64 smoke grey console tint. May look black when shelved, but would allow to see inlays from inside. Or maybe this would look terrible, not sure!

If I was starting from scratch, I would probably get the grey cases, but since I was pretty much committed to clear cases by the time Shadowfox's cases came out, I went with clear.
Maybe, just once, someone will call me "sir" without adding, "you're making a scene."

Clear. Black clashes with my NES covers.
