is this good enough/advice
Lunchbox7985:
ok if they dont get hosted, thats fine, but im still looking to better myself, and at first i was just getting "NO" and not advice for improvment. thats the difference between constructive criticism and judgment.
id still like to help. i enjoy photoshopping stuff. im trying to do the best with what is available out there. when someone asks for something on the forums, its usually because they cant find one in the format that they want. i figured that if i could take some of these pictures that im finding and turn them into something close to what i find on here, then, while not as good as your standards, its better than nothing.

Fair enough.

I'll give bit more guiding help tomorrow.
I mean what to improve and suggestions how to apprroach the fixes.

I agree, that TCP's approach on subpar or different covers is not ideal. (I have said this before.)
It can come off as quite arrogant and sometimes even hostile. Which is not a good thing for a community driven project.
While I can understand, why this makes you upset, I still think you are vastly overselling your cover. ;)
I do not agree, that it is "as good as anything else on TCP".
Some of the mayor things I noticed:
1. Your cover (or rather the source material) has a lot of grain.
2. There are very visible smudges all over the cover, where you tried to fix certain areas. Mostly all around the edges.
3. On the frontcover you can still make out the distortions from the foil, that was wrapped around the box. (Mostly on the bottom and on the right side.)
4. The front cover is undersaturated, too dark in general and slighly blurry
5. The cover does not fit the template. There is a 1 pixel gap at the top and bottom, a 3 pixel gap at the left side and a 4 pixel gap at the right side.
6. The backcover is distorted. If you look at the text, you can make out a slight bow towards the bottom. The screenshots are also slightly tilted.
Some improvements you could try:
First of all forget about the smudge tool!! ;D
Frontcover:
- Use the logos (Gameboy Advance banner, Seal of Quality, ESRB logo) that you can find in every template and place them on top of your image.
- Run some filters, to get rid of some of the grain.
- Maybe sharpen the image.
- Fix the colours. (More saturation, a bit more light.)
Backcover:
I would suggest to rebuild the backcover.
- Start with a solid blue background.
- Cut out the Inspector Gadget logo, screenshots and the hand from the original image. (Or try to google them.)
- Retype all the text.
- You can use some logos from the template here again. All the other logos (Dreamcather, LSP, Magic Pockets, etc.) you should be able to find on google. If not, I would cut them out from the original image aswell.
- For the barcode you can find various barcode makers on the net.

thats the kind of advice I was looking for, very constructive, thank you.
